The knit upper overall was well done, but was just slightly soft and allowed a bit too much excess movement that I would have preferred not to. The upper’s a lightweight knit with minimal reinforcements so while it’s very comfortable and efficient, it might not last as long. While these barely squeak at all (it’s foam, duh), the bite is so aggressive it almost feels like it could throw you off balance if you’d let it to.UA’s brand new Flow cushion debuts with the Curry 8 and while it’s nothing we haven’t seen or felt before, it complements what the shoe is trying to deliver extremely well. Another excellent guard option, the Dame 7 is a lightweight shoe that’s responsive, springy, and feels great on all courts. Stephen Curry’s 8th shoe is easily in contention for one of the best in his line - here’s to hoping the future of the line will continue trending in this direction! Imagine yourself running at 30 miles an hour and then completely halting without any easing into it.

The medial sections of the foam do come out a little more, which does help plant off the inside foot more confidently. I tested the shoe in both a few indoor men’s leagues games as well as some outside shootarounds and the traction is with no exaggeration, all-time great traction. Say what you want about the debatable choices durability or support-wise but, man, they absolutely nailed optimizing the fit and just how they feel on feet.

In multiple active 2-hour shoot around my foot never felt noticeably hot and there was also never noticeable sweat buildup that I sometimes experience when wearing other shoes. While I haven’t personally played in those enough to confidently publish a review or give my conclusions – the general reception from most is extremely positive. Where some lightweight options are much too stuffy for long games, the Curry 8 comes with high-end ventilation that will keep you cool even in the hottest of environments. However, if you’re someone who spends their time playing or practicing in the gym it will provide you with a lighter, more comfortable shoe.
