Hundreds of years ago, a group of Sokenzan rebels fell under siege from an Imperial regiment. Their numbers and supplies dwindled, and in desperation, they built a small shrine hoping to summon spiritual reinforcements. A Kami of Ancient Wars came to their aid, arming them with burning blades. The rebels and the Imperials fought for days, and the kami cheered when blood spilled across the snow. When the last soldier finally fell, no one remained on either side. The kami still haunts the mountaintop shrine, hoping to start another fight and recreate the excitement of that moment. You can also find a new type of foil in Kamigawa—a special neon ink treatment silkscreened on top of traditional foil, making for an extra-vibrant, uniquely gorgeous effect. Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos claimed all of the neon ink in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty—Hidetsugu is the only card that appears with the neon ink treatment. The Myojin of Roaring Blades embodies the force of unrest. Its blades, made of molten lava motes, will shard and plant themselves inside those who survive its strike. The mote residing within that person continues to burn, forever filling them with a restlessness that consumes them day and night. The victims are both blessed and cursed—as likely to create and affect change on a level unmatched by anyone else as they are to be mired in chaos and constant dissatisfaction. You know Phyrexia, right? Well they’re spilling into Kamigawa now too! There are two Phyrexian cards available in the set: Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant and Tamiyo, Compleated Sage. These can be opened in any set, draft, and collector boosters of any language and feature the Phyrexian frame and text in Phyrexian, though they each sport the card’s regular art. Channel? Ninjutsu? Reconfigure? All keywords that show up here, so come learn how the mechanics of the set work through these great videos: The reincarnation of Keiga, the divine dragon of islands, Kairi continued to protect Minamo until Minamo's decline late in the Shattered States Era. When Otawara began to rise as the preeminent center of learning and innovation, they sought out Kairi for the dragon's protection, but Kairi was suspicious of the moonfolks' intentions and refused. Nowadays he spends most of his time exploring the oceans and skies of Kamigawa, discovering mysteries that he keeps to himself. Chris Gleeson (September 20, 2019). " Throne of Eldraine Promos". magicthegathering.com. Wizards of the Coast. There are 22 Ninja creatures in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, plus the ninja planeswalker Kaito Shizuki. You can find alternate versions of all of them, each with new art in the Ninja frame: As a young akki, Goro-Goro grew up hearing all the ancient tales of Ryusei, the former incarnation of Atsushi. The stories filled him with such awe for the great dragon that he decided to dedicate his life to Ryusei, never mind that Ryusei had been reincarnated hundreds of years ago. He tirelessly treks through the mountains, following Atsushi and loudly making offerings to her all in the name of Ryusei. Atsushi would have killed him long ago out of sheer annoyance, but the offerings Goro-Goro makes are just valuable enough that the dragon permits him to live—for the time being, at least.

A diverse community of players devoted to Magic: the Gathering, a trading card game ("TCG") produced by Wizards of the Coast and originally designed by Richard Garfield. Foil fanciers, rejoice! This bundle contains all eight foil drops from the February 2022 Superdrop! All of 'em! That's two fours, or four twos if you're gonna be like that. You know what else totally rules and is tangentially related to the number eight? Octopuses. That's right. Those eight-armed brain monsters from the ocean and the occasional nightmare. And yeah, you heard us right. Octopuses is a more correct plural than octopi—look it up. And don't you dare bring any of that octopodes nonsense into our lair, we're not about that life. THE BUNDLE BUNDLE Finally, Wizards is making changes to three separate cards that are not a part of the two archetypes targeted by the biggest changes. Symmetry Sage As creatures without souls, Phyrexians cannot innately develop planeswalker abilities. In her bid to take over the Multiverse, another praetor named Elesh Norn challenged Jin-Gitaxias to find a way to turn planeswalkers into Phyrexians. With the aid of Tezzeret, a self-serving planeswalker, Jin- Gitaxias arrives on Kamigawa, believing the plane's dual-realm nature will help further his studies. His experiment succeeds, and he turns the moonfolk planeswalker Tamiyo into the first Phyrexian planewalker. Core Set 2020 was the first set to contain a foil alternate art promo card included in the Bundle. [54] Set

And this time around, you can toss a bunch of technology in there . . .and it's going to be a real blast! Reason: “We gave this card a 4 toughness to give it a role as a more resilient option since most Elves have lower power/toughness and are susceptible to small sweepers and toughness-based removal spells.” Harald, King of Skemfar The Myojin of Cryptic Dreams embodies the force of inspiration. It has never shown itself fully in the mortal realm. Instead, it visits mortals in the dreams, where it shows itself only as a reflection in a mirrored surface and whispers to them, planting new ideas in their minds. Each reflection of the myojin is a unique mirror aspect of it. It has an infinite number of such mirror aspects, each representing a new idea that no one on the plane has ever thought of before. But this new venture into Kamigawa is something new. “Neon Dynasty” doesn’t exactly scream Japanese mythology, after all. This time we’re seeing Kamigawa as we’ve never seen it before: a sci-fi city with new technology and a futuristic sheen.

Foil etching is returning to Magic in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Foil etching is a print technique that can be applied to Magic cards in different ways, and we use it differently from set to set. Sometimes we build a whole frame around it, as in Commander Legends, and sometimes we use it as a frame highlight as in Strixhaven: School of Mages. Reason: “Since Harald Unites the Elves requires a large board and a filled graveyard to use each chapter effectively, we raised the floor of the card by creating a more consistent first chapter that is less reliant on having a filled graveyard beforehand.” Elderfang Ritualist Wizards states that Warriors and Equipment, which were heavily featured in Zendikar Rising, are “especially susceptible to removal” due to steep equip costs and the amount of mana that has to be invested and re-invested. Therefore, many of the cards in the theme are being changed to be “less taxing on mana and more inherently resilient.” Arms Scavenger The April 2022 Ranked Season begins March 31 at 12:05 p.m. PT (19:05 UTC) and ends on April 30 at 12 p.m. PT (19:00 UTC). It's been a long time since original Kamigawa, and I can't wait for all of you to enjoy this plane and all the hard work we put into it. It's got some old elements, some new elements, and it combines these for a fresh experience.
