About this deal

Whilst I did like the residents a lot, I felt that they kind of used Ella's fame and expertise to get the town pool up and running again. Still, the oldies provided some very funny comic relief! Sam’s characterisation when it came to his age annoyed me too. I have an almost 12 year old and in the beginning of the book Sam was doing things I could never imagine my son doing even today, let alone two years ago. Then, later in the book, Sam was acting like a kid half his age. It unnerved me a little.

When they first meet, he never could have anticipated what the future held for them. It made me think of a Criminal Minds episode, you know, when two like minded individuals encounter each other and immediately know WHAT they are, and it ain’t normal. Workplace romance, slowburn, rivarly, ocean conservation, HE FALLS FIRST(and he falls hard, it’s the sweetest thing ever!), spice.. with some added praise😏 & to top it all off, BANTER! Woven with stories of church life at the coalface, this book is a vital call for leaders to allow the contours of their life and leadership to be values-shaped. Bob Wall reached the end of the line. Still nothing. The girl was supposed to have been killed right on the sandy shore, near the old white schoolhouse, now covered by lurid yellow crime scene tape.

Summary:

Kate and Jude, upon first sight, immediately know that there is something special and unique about each other that will pull them together. Kate is a bad girl, looking to "settle down", wanting a husband, house, kids.. the works. Here comes Jude, not sure what he wants, besides Kate, but he knows he has to have her. They both have secrets and both like to be in control. Can their intense, obsessive love overcome these issues, or will they find that they bring them closer together even if a power struggle comes into play? A well written story that I was drawn to from the start and pretty much kept me hooked until the end. At the beginning, we are told that the information within is derived from author interviews, observations, official records, and court proceedings. We are also told that some names and details have been changed and conversations re-created. i wish we had saw more of the characters like the plastech guys, luca’s brother and her roommate bc i know they’ll be in the next books, but tbh i didn’t care much for them but it didn’t rlly make like the book more or less? so it’s chill She lay awake and thought about being rescued from the descending spiral of shabby rooming houses, each one worse. Of the diminishing of old pals, the eventual state home for the aged, recognised the fact that in all her born days of entertaining men in and out of bed, she'd never before had a legitimate proposal of marriage.

Hey all! We wrote a book. How exciting?! (Someone pinch us, we still can't believe it.) ☀️ Thank you so much for giving our debut novel a chance! We hope you all fall in love with Luca & Avery as much as we enjoyed writing their special love story. #Luvery #WUTB 🌊🤍🌉I'm sorry, i refuse to believe that this was a debut. there is no way!! please explain how it was so utterly perfect if it is one? how it is absolutely flawless in every way??

A modern day Crime and Punishment that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A stunning book that manages to terrify and enlighten at the same time. I reread it on a regular basis to remind myself what the best, most empathetic crime journalist can be like." —Gary Shteyngart, author of Lake SuccessElla's first job that she gets assigned to selling Irma Honeychurch's house. This house belongs to Jakes Nanna, Jake, who is a local farmer and owns the local hardware store. When Ella first meets Jake to discuss selling the house there seems to be a spark between them, but this won't help any when it comes to selling the house. Ella was really confident in selling the house, but Jake doesn't make it easy for her in not answering or returning her calls makes her job a lot harder. How do you sell a house if the owner really doesn't want to sell? The story alternates between Kate and Jude who are more alike than either of them know. They are both killers for a start. I’ve read a few stories to do with serial killers but not two in the story! In this groundbreaking book, Rebecca Godfrey writes with insight and compassion about a startling teens-on-teen crime that prefigures Parkland, Columbine, and Slenderman. She unspools a story that feels only too relevant today — an outsider yearning to fit in, a Queen Bee holding onto her crown, and an unfortunate misfit in the wrong place at the wrong time. A revelation for any lover of teen crime..."

I’m not saying that I support murder because I definitely don’t. But this novel lets you really get into the heads of two people who do see that as an option. The author does an incredible job of explaining their thought processes. In fact, there were times when one or both of them thought something through so thoroughly that I could almost believe that murder was the best option, that they were enacting some sort of vigilante justice in their own way and actually doing society a favor. That makes this both an incredibly interesting story and one that is relatively creepy. Understanding the motivations of such characters so thoroughly can definitely be psychologically chilling. But it’s chilling in a way that I can’t help but love. This was such a fun read! If you want to go in completely blind, I highly suggest not reading this review (or any others) until after you finish the book. That said... When news breaks of a proposed waterski park, a local developer starts sniffing around Honeychurch House. Ella’s first sale is so close she can taste it, until a sharp-eyed local recognises her. Apart from spending her days writing, Kels enjoys long hikes and watching cult-classic scary movies. There's a lot I could say about Lily Malone as a writer - starting with the fact that I admire the way she crafts characters and plots, drawing them together in an engaging and often sassy romps of the heart. Her latest release, Water Under the Bridge, does all that and more. A story of two people drawn together by the sale of a house, both with different motives for being where they are at when their hearts collide, it's romantic without being soppy, warm-hearted without being soft. Jake and Ella have chemistry and conflict in spades and their push-pull relationship seesaws throughout the book, making the reader ache for them to get it together as much as ... well, as much as they do, deep down. It's taken me around a year to get around to reading Lily Malone's Chalk Hill series. And oh boy, the first book is incredibly sweet! We got two protagonists, Kate (or Lydia) and Jude, both bonded by their sins and blood of others, along with a tom of secrets between them.
