Lots of love The word ‘Reimprinting’ comes from the psychological term ‘imprinting’ which is when a child imprints a situation or learning into their memory which then goes on to create a belief. Most of our core beliefs are formed in the first six years of our life. But as we progress through life the negative experiences we go through often grow these already formed negative beliefs, allowing them to snowball and become bigger and more challenging negative beliefs. These negative core beliefs set us up for failure. We begin to misinterpret situations to fit our expectations. Karl Dawson says “We’re always looking for confirmation that our beliefs are true”. Unfortunately we tend to find that confirmation, often by re-enacting the same bad experiences all throughout our lives.

The younger self is no longer trapped, re-living the unbearable emotion over and over. By allowing the emotion and hearing what the past self needed and felt at the time, you have effectively process the emotion and the broken part of the psyche has been reintegrated. For example, in conventional EFT tapping on meridian end points is used to take the emotional intensity out of a past memory. What you are left with is to be able to recall your most traumatic and stressful life memories without any emotional disruption or stress, which is obviously extremely useful, as negative past memories keep the body in a state of stress and can contribute to disease. However, with Matrix Reimprinting EFT the memory is actually transformed. You can go into any past memory, say and do what you wished you’d said and done, bring in new resources, and create and transform the picture you have of that memory. The Agreement between you and us is binding on you and us and on our respective successors and assigns. Then move this idea into the cultural, what does your culture say about a women or man’s legs? How are they viewed sexually? Matrix Reimprinting has the merit of being one of the few therapeutic interventions able to change hard-wired negative beliefs. This is what a cognitive or talking therapy approach to this memory could result in, a person overriding the emotions of what the younger self felt with rationalisation and adult understanding. I ask my client “Can you picture that for your younger self?” If the answer is yes then that’s great.But sometimes my client will say “No! I can’t picture that at all! My mom would never give me a hug.”

Once the trauma energy has been cleared and the memory has been changed to a positive and empowering experience, this is then re-imprinted alongside a new positive belief system into the subconscious mind of the client where it will have a permanent and beneficial effect. Throughout the whole process, this experience is managed by the practitioner, so the individual does not re-experience previous trauma. Matrix Reimprinting is a very powerful, liberating and empowering process for any individual who has suffered from emotional trauma in their life. It is also very effective for any physical illness which has an emotional aspect at its root. Simply put, Matrix Reimprinting is a technique that connects people with their past traumas and core beliefs and elegantly enables them to transform them into supportive platforms for their lives.Similarly to both EFT and Breathwork (read What is Breathwork? and What is EFT?), the thinking behind Matrix Re-imprinting is a combination of both the ancient tradition from which EFT is derived (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and modern psychology’s understanding of of trauma. For me, my training in Matrix Re-imprinting closely aligned with ideas postulated by Professor Franz Ruppert which highlight the fragmentary effects of trauma on the psyche. How trauma affects the psyche From this point Sarah was now conscious of that subconscious programme and could see it in action. She also took time to reimprint past resentments and hurts so that she felt truly ready to meet Mr Right - and she did, only 3 months after that session and is now happily married with her soulmate. Many therapists offer sessions via Skype, or phone, as the therapy lends itself especially well to this way of working.

If we really want to change our lives we must first uncover the roots of our beliefs which, planted deep in our subconscious mind, underpin all that we think, feel and do. As Carl Jung said: The parties to the Agreement do not intend that any term of the Agreement shall be enforceable by virtue of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by any person that is not a party to it.
