About this deal

The Four Leaf is a stand-alone novella in the Holinight series, featuring strong language, explicit scenes, and mature situations. Listener discretion is advised. I like this one a bit more than the Christmas book and it is a lot better too. Better plot! Better characters! Better sex scenes! Better writing! Well, not really, the writing is basically the same but it felt a bit less cringe than the Christmas book. There were some moments that I found cringe but it was bearable.

I'd like to see you manage such a feat after I break both your hands." Adrian's husky voice was deadly. More than a decade has passed, and while our platonic relationship somehow survived, I still cringe when I think about it. This novella focused alot on consent! Adrian made sure that everything was consensual and expressed verbally!I actually enjoy this one more than I expected. Both characters felt had much more chemistry and the sexual tension between them felt real, to put it simply, it existed. I actually like that they have a very clear and non-blurry history between them, both are best friends since kindergarten and were lowkey in love with each other until they couldn't hold it any longer. Although I didn't quite imagine the plot resolved in that direction (mainly because the synopsis kinda suggested it would resolve the way I imagine, not sure if I caught it the wrong way or the synopsis was indeed misleading), it wasn't a huge letdown. As for Samantha, I mostly liked her sweet personality. I thought her crush on Adrian was really cute. I was just a bit bothered by her cowardness at times. Overall though, I thought she paired well with Adrian. Anyway, Adrian seemed like a very charming and playful guy who liked to tease Samantha. As they grew up, he only ever showed her his caring, protective and gentle side, because he didn't want to scare her with his ''beast''. Which was one of the reasons why he never really crossed the line to become more than friends with her. Seeing that she was dating nice and serious guys, he didn't think he was fitting her standards.

The tension between these two was behind palpable and my toes were curling in anticipation for one of them to make a move. I don’t want to give anything away since this is a super short novella but…THE SHOWER OMMMGGGG YESSS die. drown. burn. jump off a cliff. If someone called me stinky in public, I would simply cease to exist 😚🫶🏻 I will rip this world from its roots to find you before the time runs out, little prey. Now come out."

A Holinight Novella

I actually enjoyed it. The plot, the characters, and the writing was amazing too. I liked how LJ actually managed to show us the childhood of Adrian and Sam and how they were so adorable. I actually felt connected to the characters which never when I'm reading novellas. Some scenes were so sweet and cute but some felt a little cringe to me. But I liked that jealousy scene the most 🤭 they just always hits different you know!? I binged it in an hour and wish there was more!! It was such a great mixture of snarky banter, palpable tension, and piping hot physical activities.

Reread: AND I LISTENED TO IT THIS TIME. That may have been one of the hottest experiences of my life… jk but like seriously damn. I felt like I was present during the book and I am NOT mad about it. Everyone needs to listen to this one. NOW. You will be throbbing like a freaking tachycardic heart. I swear!!!!! I think I have to add a pepper to the audio bc hot damn that took it to the next level.

My needs and desires to be dominant and give in to very primitive and carnal urges are something I don’t think my sweet Bambi would like. They played Predator/prey game that they used to play when they were children! The loser owes the winner! It all starts with Sam watching Adrian masturbating in the shower & groaning her name! ( OK 🫢😭🔥😖 ) I also like that once the cat is out of the bag, the author gave them a chance to resolve the... miscommunication...? misunderstanding...?--I'm not sure what to call it--the huge elephant between them. It really gave a huge impact on the plot so I felt it was so much better than the previous book I read. Content warning No condom/ No mention of birthcontrol/ No mention of being clean/ Masturbation/ In the shower/ Voyeurism (slight)/ Exhibitionism (slight)/ Primal play/ Foreplay/ Fingering/ Oral sex/ Rough/ Outdoor/ Biting & Scratching

Firstly Adrian will have to admit his penchant for Primal Play while Samantha needs to put herself out there. And when they eventually do, Adrian goes all caveman and gets to treat the girl of his heart like prey. They obviously had a lot of fondness for each other and I had a really good feeling about them at the beginning but yeah, I wasn't much into the primal play thing. I didn't feel like it had its place in this plot. If the guy has darker cravings, why not just BDSM or something? I don't know, it didn't do the kink justice in my opinion, too much on the unrealistic side of it. Two best friends grow up together, fall in love, get married, and live happily ever after. But what about the one where the girl gets friend-zoned after an awkward attempt at making a move on her best friend? HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. That was so hot and I was so into it. I literally read this in one sitting (shame on me for starting it at 1 am). THANK GOD FOR KU, steamy novellas and smut!!!I can smell her scent trailing behind her. Once I tasted the sweet musk of her cunt, I became addicted. Savored and memorized what I’ll soon get to claim. Adrian is into Primal play & has a rough nature during sexual activities, It's the reason he was controlling his urges because he didn't want sam to be scared & reject him!
