Has anyone ever added weights onto the rear end of the optical tube? Seems to me the perfect solution. Pace Weights have been scientifically proven to substantially improve weight training satisfaction for both men and women and eliminate the frustration of trying to build up repetitions between weight increments. (Ohio University study using Pace Weights, 1997-1998) However, I was observing without the counter weight a few nights ago and I cannot say I noticed a difference. I am wondering if counter balancing a 8" OTA may be unnecessary as...I'm sure i could upgrade to a better mount to solve this, but I'm not looking to spend that money at the moment. Perhaps not that elegant but seems to balance the scope nicely. Counterweight weighs around 2,2 kg which seems enough for balancing my moonlite focuser with spacers and my heaviest eyepiece which is in fact not that heavy at just below 0.5 kg.

Thats why the length of chain approach works quite well - the lower the scope is pointing, the more chain is off the ground and vice versa. It's not the neatest solution though. The upshot is that my scope is now very front heavy, and so always wants to tip over in the mount. I can tighten the tighteners further but makes it less smooth to move around. Plus, the three strong magnets keep the plates securely attached to the kettlebell when you are training with them and performing exercises. This innovative design makes it easy to add incremental weights in 1kg increments, without having to buy a whole new kettlebell.Alternatively, attach a heavy biker’s chain to the rear end of the dob. The lower the scope elevation, the greater the amount of chain suspended to balance the increased moment from the eyepiece end.
