About this deal

I now have LTE H-Monitor running, so I can supply any information that is available in that if it would help troubleshoot my issue. The AI Cube has an ethernet port and power supply on the bottom, and volume keys and a button to mute the microphone on the top – of course, when not muted the device will mostly be controlled by voice, more on which below. Setup Maximum size for each attachment is 10MB (rar,jpg,zip,pdf,war,txt,docx,doc,png,mp3,mp4,xls,xlsx,gif,jpeg are supported). And it’s not limited just to 4G, as using the ethernet port you can also use the Huawei AI Cube as a Wi-Fi router, with support for 802.11ac, capable of broadcasting on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and with speeds theoretically up to 1,200Mbps over LAN. Features Below these lights you’ll find the power and WPS connection buttons, which should be self-explanatory.

The SIM card slot is also at the bottom with the Reset hole. The Huawei B900 WiFi cube uses Micro SIM card size. Below the IMEI & S/N number label, there is an Ethernet port for LAN and WAN. The power plug port is at the side of the Ethernet port. We recorded 16Mbps using Fast.com which is the same as our test smartphone, a Pixel 2XL connected to Three. It means that the antenna layout inside the device didn’t have any impact on performance. The Huawei B900 AI Cube looks a little bit similar to its predecessor Huawei B528 but there is the obvious difference. On the top, there are three keys available: one volume up key, one volume down key, and one mute key. On the body, there are three LED indicators for Signal, WiFi and LAN. However, unlike the latest Huawei B618s-22d WiFi router, there is no connector for the external antenna in the B900 AI Cube. Once the update process is successful, your Huawei phone will restart automatically & verify the system image.

Looking for something else?

As a speaker, the Huawei AI Cube offers reasonably expansive performance, though the output isn’t strictly 360-degrees as claimed. The sound is clearest and fullest from the front.

In the flesh, it is loud, making plenty of noise in a busy room. While loud is good, there was depth and roundness to the sound too, though without testing the audio quality alongside its key competitors or in a controlled environment.

Figuring out how to establish a Bluetooth link isn’t immediately apparent, though. It’s strange that you can’t hook up your smartphone in this way (for direct music streaming) from the HiLink app, but rather have to ask Alexa to do so. But at least the function is there, contrary to reports you might have read elsewhere. Features

But that 4G home broadband function really is core to the Huawei AI Cube’s appeal. Treated as a pure smart speaker its ordinary sound output and relatively high price don’t make a great deal of sense. Another useful piece of software is the "Best Position" feature, which enables you to find the position with the best signal strength. The CAT level is a simplistic number which generalises the 'level' of technology that a device supports. The higher the number the 'better' it should be. However that's very dependant on the provider in terms of what frequency bands a provider uses, aggregations that are available and what levels of MIMO and QAM are deployed on their network combined with what the individual device supports. As you have found with your iPad, you're getting the same speeds with a CAT4 device (a CAT4 cannot aggregate any bands) as you are with your B900, suggesting that both are connected to a single 4G band (probably B3). photos maximum, each photo's size should be less than 10MB (bmp, jpg, png, gif, and jpeg are supported) The Huawei AI Cube can also theoretically manage upload speeds of 50Mbps over 4G. Again, actual speeds are likely to be lower, but still higher than most of the competition. Having said that, the Huawei B535 WebBox does beat it here, with upload speeds of up to 100Mbps. Tools gives you a number of mini applications, such as the aforementioned Best Position signal-chasing feature. You’ll also find an SMS app tied to the SIM card used within the AI Cube, and a Guest Wi-Fi feature that lets you set up a strictly limited sub-network for guests.
