As a lot of you might know I work for Marks and Spencer’s. I’m a visual merchandiser but I love styling up outfits that people wouldn’t normally associate with M&S. This is where a blog was born on the work based “Facebook” style page Yammer. I named it Luke’s Look. Every week I was putting up outfits I styled myself with people who work with me at the Telford M&S. With a couple of months stopping it due to being hectic over Christmas with only 2 visual merchandisers I had to stop it. But now we are on top of things and so ‘Luke’s Look’ or on my blog I will be calling it ‘M&S Styling Edit’ will be back and running every week. The photos are of great quality as I wasn’t able to go out and about to take photos as it was raining. So I had to do them in one of the offices in the building. But next week I’ll be using my proper camera and most certainly be going outside! I’ll post links to everything in the post so you can have a better look!
As we are still in January I wanted the focus to be on Active-wear. It’s the time of year when people become more active due to the party season, and this season M&S have hit it hard with their active-wear range. My lovely model Fiona, is wearing all M&S Collection starting with this stunning Extra High Impact Non-Padded Sports Bra £25 with the just as stunning, matching Floral Print Ombre Leggings £25, Fun fact from the M&S website about the leggings.. “Our breathable fabric features an open structure that allows air to move freely which keeps you feeling fresh. With added technology that draws moisture away from the body to keep you cool. Our Quick Dry fabric features an open structure that helps you to stay dry and comfortable.” She does love her caps so she’s wearing a cap from men’s £19.50, not forgetting those important Trainers £25 to carry her through her active workouts.
The second outfit Fiona is wearing is the stunning monochrome active-wear. Starting with the Padded High Neck Jacket £35, matching Printed Short Sleeve Top £18 Just like the leggings I talked about previous the tops also come with the same technology! To go all out why not get the matching Printed Cropped Leggings £22.50. (Trainers are the ones from previous) These outfits will most certainly make other people break into a sweat.
The first outfit I’m wearing is mainly from the M&S kids, where they don’t have an active-wear range, a lot of the clothes are inspired by the active-wear in the other ranges. Hooded Sweatshirt £22, Men’s Pure Cotton Crew Neck T-Shirt £6.50, Cotton Rich Joggers £20, Men’s Lace Up Trainers £29.50 and not forgetting that important Water Bottle £12.50 to keep you hydrated.
The second outfit I am wearing, all comes from the M&S Collection men’s section. Active Performance Textured T-Shirt £15, Just like the women’s active range it has some pretty cool technology such as… “This active performance textured T-Shirt is made with our moisture wicking technology which helps the garment to stay dry and comfortable during the toughest of workouts. Finished with reflective trims you can have increased visibility day or night” Active Lined Short £15 again with these shorts they also have the technology that the T-shirt has too. (Trainers and cap are from previous outfits) I can certainly say that this year we have upped our game in the active world. Are you ready to up your game?
Which piece is your favourite?
I’m looking forward to posting different outfits every week and keep you guys updated with trends from M&S. It’s a place where not many people tend to look at to go buy things for my age generation but I intend to change that and get people to see M&S in a different light!
