Well, this gave me the same exquisitely sweet vibes as the books I read all those years ago, by Tamora Pierce, Brandon Hull, and Kristin Cashore. Uli was very strict and formal and quite intimidating, but she was kind-hearted and loved having her grandchild to stay.

The Welsh influences and folklore was the perfect choice for a horror/influenced novel as I’ve grown up near Wales and hearing about all the ghost hauntings and supernatural sightings and other assorted spooky stuff. If Mer uses her powers one last time to help destroy the magical well that protects Garanhir’s lands–and his power–the prince’s reign will be over and Mer will finally be free. Kalyn Josephson has crafted a rich world and a tightly-plotted story that kept me reading well into the night. I wasn't particularly endeared to Emily Lloyd "the star" but I thought the older, mature, regular Londoner who is working to be a better person on a daily basis sounds like a great person.Okay so first thing I need to get out of the way is that this another beautiful cover illustrated by Kelly Chong, bringing my total books owned with covers featuring her art up to… I think 15?
