About this deal

are attached to the back of the chassis via screws – installation is relatively simple, but if you are going to use big drives, remember you can use only 2 of them and both must be fitted to the ports on the inside. Monitoring what that does to drive temperatures now - running it at "1%" permanently, only speeding up if the CPU gets above 50°C. Sorry for misleading you, but it seems the EON only uses 1x USB3 port to plug the drives SATA board. I appreciate the work that was put into the documentation but its not really self explaining for a newbe. As Raspberry Pi 4 removed the primary bottleneck by introducing 1Gbit Ethernet it’s officially “enough” for home use (and enterprise if you are into clusters).

You’ll need a path to your media folder, which OMV exposes neatly in the Shared Folder section – just copy that path, and bind it to your local container folder structure and you are set to go. The lower board is where our inverted Raspberry Pi 4 is connected via the GPIO, providing GPIO access via the external port. The design of the Argon EON makes use of space-grade aluminium allowing ultra-modern angular forms without compromising the rigidity and structural stability of the enclosure. You’ll save money and get a regular supply of in-depth reviews, features, guides and other Raspberry Pi enthusiast goodness delivered directly to your door every month. If you follow guides from other places, then when something happens, you'll need to go to those other places to ask for help.

This is a NAS, plain and simple but unlike other NAS units, the Argon EON exudes an aesthetic that would be at home in The Expanse. Instructions a bit vague, skipping a step: you *really* need to remove the rear IO shield before you try to shove the Raspberry Pi in.

Seems high - I forgot to take a reading before I installed the drives, so I need to remove 'em and check again. If you want to run your own NAS, you will either end up creating SMB shares yourself or installing OpenMediaVault. In between these two edges, right at the front of the unit is a smoked plastic button, which is programmable to perform a series of actions.

Switching out /dev/sda for one of your hard drives that is spun down and post the full output from the command. After intall you may want to modify the fan configuration to match your environment You can change the default temperature setting by editing the file /etc/argoneon. I like to keep things simple, and since Nextcloud-AIO is an officially Nextcloud supported solution, why add more complexity through adding other solutions (unless there is a proven reason).I think it's even made it a bit quieter, now it's not as snugly pressed against the solid metal lid. As reboots of all machines involved didn’t help much (it found the server, and allowed for SSH but didn’t fix the web UI issue. I haven’t tested it, but something tells me you could have a USB boot from that port and drop the need for the microSD card entirely. We plugged in a Pimoroni mini black hat hack3r breakout board, and attached an Explorer HAT Pro, one of the best Raspberry Pi HATs. I wasn't so thrilled that the multiple Synology devices that I purchased stopped becoming eligible for firmware updates, effectively leaving me with devices that became less and less useful over time.

To give you a reference a naked Raspberry Pi 4 board runs at about 52℃ idle and goes all the way to 82℃ where it throttles the speed of the CPU. Looks like it's come Royal Mail Tracked 48, too, from an address in the UK - which with a bit of luck means no VAT to pay. The case includes a vast array of bonus features, the power button doubles as an OLED that can be used to display temperatures, the NAS's IP address, and many others.I decided to set a custom fan profile which wouldn’t spin over 50% until the temperature is hitting 70℃ in an attempt to keep the Argon Eon case as quiet as possible in normal operation. Did some experimentation, 'cos I'll do literally anything instead of actual work: the OLED works fine at fan speeds of 14-100.
