About this deal

The powerhouse of the binocular industry, and the most trusted optics in the world for a simple reason – they’re the optimum combination of performance and value for any pursuit. And we purposely crafted these binos with a lightweight, streamlined design so you never have to go without them. We think a fairly crucial part of keeping your binoculars as good as new is the use of objective lens caps and eyepiece covers, something lacking from this model. We wonder whether the new 'upgraded' version, which is completely black, was a conscious decision to make them look 'less toyish'. This offers plenty of protection and because of the excellent textured surface on the edges, it provides you with a great non slip surface to hold onto.

Although if we say that my sample Bijia actually has a magnification of around 9x (which is my estimation), whilst the brightness is still as impressive, it now also starts to make more sense. I have read that this particular coating that they have used gives these lenses a transmittance level of 99. Bijia Sport Optics make no reference to their official close focus distance on the specification sheet or indeed on their product description.

Whilst there is always some minor variances, I really do have my doubts as to the fact that my sample Bijia 12x25 actually had a 12x magnification. Whilst they produce a large selection of binoculars, Bijia tends to focus more on the entry level market, with a few specialized exceptions like their military and marine binoculars.

Secondly looking at the size of the exit pupil, on my sample I measured it to be about 3mm in diameter, when for a 12x25 configuration, it should have been 2. Compact, lightweight models featuring moderate magnification and field of view are ideal for travelling. They don't let enough light in for enjoyable stargazing but provide decent views of the moon and its craters for a compact binocular.London Camera Exchange Limited, London Camera Exchange Solent Limited and London Camera Exchange Portsmouth Limited are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, register numbers 742719, 761264, 789602 and act as a credit broker and not a lender. Very cheap binoculars featuring an all metal lightweight and very compact twin hinge body design, fully coated optics, BK-7 roof prisms.
