The campsite is surrounded by nature, on the shores of Lake Biscarrosse (with direct access), near the Atlantic coast, Biscarrosse-Plage and the South Beach, a gorgeous place known for surf spots and water sports. Throughout June, July, August and September it can be scorching hot with temperatures averaging mid 20s to mid 30s. All i get is a watered down, soapy, honey with a vey shy white flower smell and a bit of stinky patchouli. Electric BBQs are banned, probably because they use too much of the campsite electricity and cause power outages. Though, I am unsure if the accommodations are wheelchair accessible and you would need to double check when booking.

Our initial impression once we arrived at the camp was impressed, it seemed to have all the facilities it said it would on the brochure and looked clean. Site is very well managed - very clean with excellent facilities (we used the showers on site on the last day - lovely, very spacious, clean and lovely showers). Appreciate the mobile home should be left as clean as possible, and we do this, but why are we paying so much money to clean it ourselves with only one bottle of anti-bac spray and cleaning cloth provided?We drove past a small intermarche on our way to the campsite in Sanguinet but unfortunately it closed at 7.

In fact, if you have left your sunbed unattended for a long period of time, the lifeguards will remove your towel – nobody messes with them! Although the campsite is around 30 minutes from the coast, it still manages to have a beautiful sandy beach thanks to its location on one of the Grands lacs of Biscarrosse.

It makes us wonder how great it would have been if slightly more expensive or potent ingredients were used. No need to leave the campsite to get groceries: you will find all basic necessities at our mini-market.

I think this seaside town is little known by us Brits because we didn’t hear a single English speaking person during our trip – which to us is a great sign of a good place to explore.
