I'll not wax poetic this time regarding the long and storied history and my experiences with the HD 6xx family of Sennheiser headphones. While they have the same style, build quality, and comfort, the second generation have a warmer sound that delivers more thump and punch. but this was not the case at all for me on the HD 660S; I found its upper midrange to be very smooth. But you won't find anywhere near this level of service from them, and I'll be sure to keep Holburn in mind for the future.

The sennheiser 650 has been improving over the last 14 years, including the easiest to drive drivers and more compatible with multiple amplifiers, they also said the newer paint is more resilient.Via EQ, it is very easy to adjust for that elevation at 150hz, but it is not really possible to alleviate the lack of extension as the bass starts to distort early when pushed, so I only add a very conservative 2dB shelf under 100hz.

Official replacement capsule (drive unit + surrounding fittings) for Sennheiser HD660S Over-Ear Headphones. I have V281 and Senn HD6XX, which I love the paring but just sometimes I wish for more treble energy. Yes, there was slightly more detail and an improvement in overall technical performance, but there wasn’t the transformation that happens when the 6XX is put on a tube. The first difference you might notice is that the HD660S comes in a bigger (and nicer) box, with a better overall package. You either like or hate the typical Sennheiser design but I think Sennheiser made a wise choice tuning the already existing design. We ship our products around the UK, ensuring that everyone can have access to the most exciting products whether you want to upgrade your audio systerm or build a cinema room. Imaging on the HD 660S does appear to be a bit deeper and wider, but it's mostly quite like the other two headphones, which to my ears is good reasonably wide, and not particularly deep. I went back and forth between my HD 650 and the HD 660 S and felt indeed there might be a small improvement in comfort, but it is subtle. On the one hand, this made the unboxing experience of the HD 660S2 a little less dramatic than that of the HD 660S.

Silly, I know, but I think a stealth black look helps put the focus on where it belongs: sound quality, not looks. Also, even if their cable is detachable, it needs quite a bit of force to disconnect, meaning the headphones could be yanked off your head if it was hooked on something. I've also seen a post where a Head-Fi made an inquiry to Sennheiser about whether the HD 600 or HD 650 would be discontinued. Audio Venue Ltd, t/a Audio Venue is a credit broker, not a lender and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 738562).According to Sennheiser the new HD 660S features a new transducer design, resulting in improved control of the diaphragm movements thanks to a specially manufactured precision stainless steel fabric, which is adapted to the contour of the diaphragm. The Sennheiser HD 660s seem like a pretty good option for consuming the more spacious sound that these are well known for. Sennheiser thinks it sounds good enough as is (and, well, can’t have it sounding better than more expensive ones! It’s an approach that doesn’t seem out of place with classic hi-fi, either, as that’s exactly what Sennheiser has done with its latest headphones, the HD 660 S. A.
