About this deal

This lantern functions as a radio, an LED lantern and a power bank as it can charge mobile phones via it's USB port (emergency charge only). One popular feature is a 5-volt USB charging port for recharging cell phones when an outlet is not available. Also we have a PCB with all electronics on it and that small green thing which looks like a electrolytic capacitor is the Lithium rechargeable battery.

You'll find a range of useful features on the various models, such as easy hand winding, USB device and cell phone charging, weather resistance, built-in solar panels and optional AC adapters. For my taste the lantern is a compromise: because of the cranking, it has just a small battery(space is limited) and because of the small battery you have small LED currents to maintain some useful runtimes…of course you would get veeeeerrrrrry looooong runtimes with a additional USB power bank or with always cranking it up.When you are really in a pinch, use the hand crank to get 10 minutes of light for every 1 minute of cranking.

In some of these fake designs, the "magnet" is not a magnet or the coil is not connected, and no electricity is generated when the device is shaken. They have some interesting lanterns, one powered by 3xAA, one with a solar panel and one with a handcrank build in. We recommend 'topping up' the internal battery every 2 months by charging with solar, handcrank or usb to extend the battery's life and to keep it ready for power blackouts and storm season. Recharge the Lighthouse 600 from the sun by connecting a Nomad 10 solar panel to fully charge in as little as 6 hours of sunlight. Everything on this lamp could be accessed very easyly through screws, nothing was glued or clipped and I could easyly screw everything back together without any additional glue or whatever. It has the advantage that it doesn't have to be pumped continually during use like the dyno torch or some shake flashlights.
