She added: “I know nothing bad will ever happen to me because he’s right there by my side. I often chat to him out loud and he’ll make noises in return. Once, he called me a skinny cow for dieting! He was a real character and that hasn’t changed.” Ciaran, a lecturer in the paranormal at Liverpool's Hope University, knows speaking out will probably put an end to his media career... but he believes viewers should know the truth. Ghost Hunters: A Guide to Investigating the Paranormal

As a teenager she worked as a hotel cleaner in Wilmslow, and a barmaid in Cheadle Hulme and Macclesfield. [2] Career [ edit ] Early career [ edit ]

Yvette Paula Fielding (born 23 September 1968) is an English television presenter, producer, actress, and writer. In 1987 she became the youngest presenter on Blue Peter aged 18. With her husband Karl Beattie, she presented the Most Haunted series on the Living channel, via their own production company, followed by Ghosthunting With..., establishing Fielding as 'first lady of the paranormal'. She has appeared in a wide range of other programmes, from The Wright Stuff to Through the Keyhole and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. And you can’t write a review without mentioning Boris and Mr Pig. Hilarious. I love them both, farts and all. Lol Ghosts went from an interest to a career several years after Blue Peter. In 2002, Fielding’s husband, cameraman Karl Beattie, asked her if she would spend the night in a haunted house, with a camera crew. She agreed it would be interesting. And so the monster that turned into Most Haunted was born. Monster in the nicest possible way. It became something of a cult hit as well as a cultural phenomenon and roared way louder than you might expect from something you had to scroll down the listings (to Living TV, later Really TV) to find. Bloody Nora, don’t read this in the dark! I made the mistake of staying up late into the night reading this one, and some of the scenes are so well written, so deeply grim and horrifying, that my imagination did waaaay too much with it. Resident parapsychologist Dr Ciaran O'Keeffe has sensationally lifted the lid on the ghosthunting series, Most Haunted ... and claims that the public are being deceived by "showmanship and dramatics."

The House in the Woods is well written and both the cover image and the story akin to Stranger Things.

Nazi ghosts. I am sorry, I just cannot take it seriously. It reminded me of another book I read (not about ghosts but about murder) and how that suddenly went to nazis as well. The Ripper of Whitechapel is gripping and entertaining, frightening and eerie without being too over the top.

And in another edited clip with medium Ian Lawman, Yvette is seen on camera making a deep sigh. In the scene that eventually went to air, Ian (after Yvette sighs) says: "What's that noise?Photograph: Richard Saker/The Observer Derek Acorah preparing for a show at the Brook theatre in Soham, Cambridgeshire, 2011. As television’s most famous spirit medium and ghost hunter, Derek Acorah, who has died of sepsis aged 69, inevitably attracted controversy. He split opinion among viewers, who either believed in the paranormal and revelled in his “insights” or considered him a fake and a fraud. Yvette Fielding takes pop supremo Louis Walsh and Boyzone on a trip into the unknown as they brave the shadows underneath the historic city of Edinburgh. Below the city is a terrifying network of subterranean streets once occupied by criminals and the underclasses, named after the former street, Mary King's Close. Yvette will lead Louis and the boys to a hell on three levels as they descend through the forgotten streets to investigate a witches' lair and chambers believed to be haunted by evil ghosts. But will the lads make it that far?. This episode marked the last TV appearance of Stephen Gately as he died 6 weeks later on 10 October 2009. Other guests include the spirit of a cavalier called Charles Deacon, who was murdered by the Roundheads during the English Civil War. I would put The House in the Woods down as a YA book due to the content which I think may be too scary for younger children, but I would say it is for the younger end of the market as the way it has been written is more in keeping with children’s middle-grade stories. Either way, it is a fabulous paranormal ghost story. Do you have a story to sell? So, for those curious, this is the first book in a middle-grade/young clean YA following three young teens - Eve, Clovis and Tom - who decide that this Halloween will be spooky. They plan to go to a haunted house, in the middle of the woods, with a Ouija board, without telling their parents or guardians. And you can guess what happened next, can't you? Tom was probably my ultimate hero in this book and his character growth has left a lot open for further books. The end also left a juicy hint at what could be coming Eve, Clovis and Toms way in book 3. Despite being the second book in the The Ghost Hunter Chronicles series - The Ripper of Whitechapel reads as a stand-alone. As someone interested in the paranormal and a big fan of Yvette and the Most Haunted team I am always intrigued as to her ideas in her books. I find Uncle Rufus' experiments fascinating 😂
