Lately, I have been thinking of ways to change up my style. I’ve wondered how I can change it and make it a little more diverse. With it still being winter, you still need to wrap up warm most days. At work they are always going on about how more and more people are going for the Smart/Casual look. Did someone say Suit it up?
I wanted to stray away from the normal, coat and jumper look. I wanted to change up my style and do something different. 2020 is the year I want to expand my current wardrobe and be more daring and try new things. As well as being more conscious with my pickings at the same time. I wanted to go back to my roots to where I used to pair more blazers with the casual vibe and change things up with different fits, instead of resorting to the beloved skinny jeans or skinny trousers.
Looking on ASOS sale I was in and dated with different types of fits and styles. However, I wanted something that is a rust/brown/burgundy colour as I know the colours suit me. Then as if by magic… this beautiful burgundy suit appears. With the double breasted blazer pricing at just £28 and the trousers at just £12, how could I leave that beauty behind? Coming from ASOS responsible edit this is something helping with being conscious of “fast fashion”
Being kind to the environment..
The ASOS website states – “The suit is made with Smooth woven fabric. We partner with the Better Cotton Initiative to improve cotton farming globally. This makes it better for farmers and the environment. BCI provides farming-practice training, it promotes things like water efficiency and reducing the most harmful chemicals” This was something I was really happy about as it’s showcasing on how ASOS are tackling farmer conditions and also the environment.
Therefore, Instead of pairing this with a roll neck like I would instantly draw myself to do, I thought what are other ways I could make this a none smart looking suit. But instead make it a smart/casual looking outfit. I remembered I purchased a camel coloured hoodie and thought that it would compliment the burgundy really well. Adding a new pair of boots from Primark that are reduced down to £7, gave it a more military smart casual vibe. Finishing the look off with my gold rings belt and camel coloured hat, perfected this outfit.
In conclusion, this outfit has fast become one of my all time favourites. Dressing this way is something I did in the past. Buying oversized blazers and wearing them with skinny jeans. This time instead I purchased the whole damn suit and made it my own. Don’t forget to check out my YouTube now I’m back over there more
