About this deal

The built in work light is more than adequate and the laser guide crosshairs system eliminates guesswork. With that done, it so far (very little use as yet) does seem to do that job exactly as I had hoped - clearly, however, I must confine operations to 'small bursts' to avoid excessive heating of cutting bits, which will be frustrating when working on 2 metre lengths of moulding, for example, which would normally require about 5 minutes per cutting operation. e. the point at which the tip of your drill bit touches the material being drilled), and the display shows how far in either direction the tip travels as it moves up and down. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's easily on a par with other Bosch power tools I've bought.

I decided that the time saved in not having to change belts to adjust the speed was worth it alone as I am constantly switching between metal work and wood work and changing speed fast is essential for my job as a professional prop builder for the TV industry. It was clear that Bosch had reinvented the pillar drill, as their offering is different from the competition in a number of ways. It seems a good choice for me as most of the holes I drill are in long flat pieces of timber which is nigh on impossible to do on my pillar drill.I had initially constructed a wooden cutting fence table, secured to the Bosch by bolts through the baseplate grooves designed for its own fence. ISC240 | OF1010R | AGC18 | TPC18/4 | TID18 | OSC18 | RTSC400 | CTL MIDI I | SYSROCK BR10 | SYSLITE KAL II | SV-SYS D14 | DSC-AG125FH | CDD9. I've lost enormous amounts of sleep reading about chuck wobble on drills but one thing i have recently discovered is that none of my drill bits are perfectly straight either. Even round workpieces can be fixed conveniently using the quick-action clamp for an absolutely precise drilling result.

Bunnings did replace it, at first they wanted to send it back for repair, after a heated discussion, the manager agreed to replace with a new one. Read drilling speeds and depths on its digital display or turn the knob underneath for stepless speed adjustments. Just to add to that excellent reply, I would say the biggest plus for me is the ability to drill to the "exact" same depth every time with different bit and timber changes using that big clear and almost instant setup function of the inbuilt digital depth gauge. The cancellation period will expire after 30 days from the day on which you receive the goods, or a third party (other than the carrier) indicated by you receives the goods. You tighten it by hand and turn a locking ring but I am sure I will get used to that and it seems to hold the drill bit securely and accurately. So for example if you're drilling a tough material you will see the speed decrease on the LCD screen.

The laser marker is accurate and the power of the unit seems more than adequate for a DIYer like me. It features a 2-speed gearbox, delivering high power in first gear and high speed in second gear for perfect material adaptations. What makes it great its accuracy to put on a laser line and know exactly where you're going to drill and the feature that I love the best is to drill a hole the same depth every time this reduces making mistakes. When you say "large" forstners, what diameter do you mean by that (a large forstner to me is 40mm+). Integrated laser to assist with drilling for easy, precise drilling at exactly the required position.

The clamp is a little fiddly to use, but as it’s attached directly to the shaft, it’s sturdy, and there’s no fear that you’ll put it down and. With these on the low speed (geared higher torque) setting I've had no problems and the electronic speed control has maintained the dialled in RPM pretty well. Every small bench top drill press I have seen requires the DP to clamped or bolted down, I have to wonder if these reviewers have ever reviewed / used a similar sized standard DP? Usable for so many things, and I've also seen many tricks on youtube for using this in ways it wasn't intended, although i guess some of them may be unsafe to do. The parallel guide works OK, my only complaint is that the high side of it gets in the way of the clamp, if you are working with something lower - I was working with 26mm wood, and the fence is higher, so had to turn it around and use the edge of the flat side.
