ASOS, Co-ord me more…
There’s no doubt about it. I love a Co-ord outfit. An outfit the co-ordinates harmoniously, hand in hand. An outfit that works together without minimal effort. ASOS are always on point with their Co-ordinates outfits.
Many people who know me or have followed me on my Instagram or blog will know I like to push boundaries. I like to try new things and be different. There’s no better way to showcase this, than with my style. Therefore, I purchased a mesh and cropped co-ord outfit from the amazing ASOS. An all white outfit which again is something I adore.
The fact now it’s becoming more and more acceptable for a guy to experiment with fashion is something I’m really living for across brands. ASOS, BoohooMan, Collusion and Topman and really highlighting this trend very well.
The outfit in question comes in three pieces. A cropped hoodie with mesh sleeving and hood. A mesh t-shirt and shorts with mesh overlays.
The hoodie is a cropped hoodie which is something I’ve never tried before. I’ve seen some many cropped t-shirts and tops on ASOS at the moment but I wasn’t too sure on what they would look like on me. The sleeves are long sleeve with meshing detailing to the cuffs on the arm sleeves of the hoodie. The only downside to this hoodie is the hole for your head to go through is a little small. Other than that I fell in love with it.
The all mesh t-shirt was my favourite. The 3/4 sleeve and cropped at the tummy is something I never imagined I would wear. But after seeing this outfit on the internet I knew I had to have it. I really can’t fault the mesh top as it’s just beautiful. A beautiful addition to my holiday suitcase when I go to Magaluf.
The shorts for me are something I had a love, hate relationship with. On the photos the shorts look really good. However, I think the shorts feel a little heavy compared to the lightweight of the hoodie and mesh top. I feel they should of been all mesh are half mesh half fabric. Where as, the shorts are fabric with mesh overlay on top.
For this outfit I decided to team my trusty and beautiful chunky trainers. The trainers in questions I just adore. I wear them all the time and I thought they complimented the outfit perfectly. Adding the long white socks give it a sporty vibe. Which is a vibe I live for. Casual sporty vibe.
Fuck The Haters
However, some people might think that guys shouldn’t wear cropped hoodies with mesh tops underneath but I couldn’t care less what other people have to think about my style.
Shortly after uploading the first image of this collection of photos to instagram I instantly received and direct message from a guy who told me that I shouldn’t be wearing a cropped hoodie or mesh. In his words ” The outfit is too girly, why the fuck do you want to dress like a girl? You’re asking for trouble when you wear things like this”
My reply to the guy in question was “Thank you for your negative feedback, the fact you have taken time out of your day to come onto my instagram profile and comment on “what you think” is appropriate to wear, just shows what type of person you are. Someone who is scared of change and being intimidated with someone who is happy with who they are. You criticisms will not change who I am and will not influence what I wear in the future. If you don’t like what I wear then don’t follow or bother to comment on my profile. Thank you.
I’ve got to a point in my life where I wear things I feel good in. I will showcase my body in an outfit that makes me feel confident and makes me feel good. I’ve been someone who has battled with my body for a very long time, I finally come to a point where I’ve become happy within my own skin. I won’t let anyone take that away from me. I’m not trying to impress anyone. I’m just showcasing my style and who I am through my clothes.
I will forever express myself and be true to who I am. If people don’t like that, then that’s their problem!
