About this deal

One cool feature about the Jura A1 is that it will self clean the machine after every 180 cups of coffee brewed. Jura's espresso machines are well-made in factories in either Switzerland or Portugal (depending on the model). Notably absent from the aforementioned (and short) list of brewing options is anything milk-based, which shouldn't come as a surprise because the A1 doesn't include a milk frothing system.

If your main concern is the budget, no doubt you should choose a Nespresso coffee maker, which will be only a couple hundred dollars. But you should keep in mind that using pods will be a serious expense every month, especially if you have a large family with more coffee drinkers. Grinding the beans every morning is noisier than making coffee with a pod, so you might wake up everybody in the house The outside is made from plastic, but Jura coffee machines are built to last and to work seamlessly. Weighing in at a solid 9.2kg, you don’t get all that machinery without some heft. But it still remains incredibly compact at 12.7” high by 9.7” wide by 17.5” deep. This can legitimately be described as a compact coffee machine and will slide nicely onto most countertops. The mere fact this is a Jura machine means it’s worth further investigation. The Swiss company enjoys a deservedly stellar reputation for the quality of its super-automatic espresso machines, so any espresso machine carrying its name is almost guaranteed to offer coffee shop-quality coffee. The bean hopper (container) on the A1 is not the largest and can hold 125 grams of coffee beans, which is enough for a 2 person household.

While the filter will save you plenty of hassle, you can easily descale the machine using Jura descaling tablets if you don’t have one. After every 180 preparations or 80 switch-on rinses, you’ll receive a prompt to clean it. Value For Money The only other cleaning required, does require some effort on your part. And this is the rinsing and drying out the drip tray after each use/spillage. And occasionally giving it a wipe down. I wouldn’t worry too much about this, just do it when you wiping your surfaces.

The rear location of the water reservoir is a great space-saver. However, it’s harder to get to than one at the front or side. Therefore, you’ll need to lift it out to refill it. So, filling it with a kettle is your best option.

Check out Jura A1!

So when it comes to overall build quality, the Jura A1 is solid and robust regardless of the plastic build and does give that premium aethstetic feel. Grinder Not only does it reduce the grinding time by half, but it also preserves the full aroma of your coffee beans after they’re ground. The Jura A1 comes with both a monitored drip tray and an integrated rinsing, cleaning and descaling program. Ultimately, if it stops you from grabbing a coffee on your way to work because you have an awesome machine at home, it will eventually save you money. A stressful morning no longer involves expensive coffee drinking sprees, just pushing a couple of buttons.
