About this deal

My main criticism is that this book is labelled as a book for beginners, however the content gets increasingly more difficult towards the end of the book when Loomis dives into complicated perspective and shadow construction drawings with little explanation to aid in understanding them.

The section on how to draw cast shadows according to specific angles was difficult for me to understand. This book was also my first look at the Loomis method of constructing the head, which I will be learning more about as I read his other books. This method has proved effective for the novice and to individuals who believed they had no ability at all. Unclipped pictorial jacket has a minor chip on the upper edge of the rear panel, small closed tear on the bottom edge amd upper edge of the front panel, otherwise looks new in mylar sleeve. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. it's also just fun to look through, the drawings and sketches have so much 20th-century character to them it's fun to see the creative process behind such charicatures. With delightful step-by-step instruction from Professor Blook, Loomis's charming alter ego on the page.

I'm reading here that people don't think this is a good book for beginners, but I started with this book and learned how to draw well from the techniques. Released by Titan Books, London, UK it's worth time spent in studying and performing exercises in each chapter. Aside from that, the content in this book is still 5 stars and the book's main focus is on having fun, which should be the reason you started drawing to begin with.

Make no mistake, the drawing principles exposed here are extremely hard, and 70% of the illustrators of today do not draw this good.

The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. Also his technique is extremely realistic so if you are looking to do something more like animation then this might not be the best instructional book for you to start with. Very Good Edition Not Specified Twelfth Printing 4to = over 12" No DJ 120pp Tan cloth over hard covers with red lettering and illustration, very tall book.May contain markings such as bookplates, stamps, limited notes and highlighting, or a few light stains. I have been working through his exercises in this book and there is so much joy and fun in his work, unlike the tortured self-expression of some modern art instruction books today. While I mostly just scanned/gleaned through this, I do think this has a lot of decent material concerning some fundamentals of art while encouraging creativity, which is really good for beginners at any age from heads, posing, and perspective. Tidak pasti sama ada ia editing atau tidak, tetapi jika benar beliau memakai 6B hingga ke 8B, saya memang kagum.

This book covers how to draw with volumes , keeping proportion, technical perspective and shadow and light. All the principles are very HARD things to do, and mastering these concepts will require much* further practice after copying everything from the book.from the librarian with glasses on the nose to the African-American man with lips the size of Australia.
