About this deal

KardiaMobile, developed by AliveCor, is a credit card sized device able to detect AF in 30 seconds, by recording the electrical activity of the heart through a person’s fingertips and sending the data to a smartphone/tablet app. Atrial Fibrillation. The clinically validated algorithm will notify you to the presence of atrial fibrillation. If AF is detected, you will see the message "Possible AF Detected." The single internal coin cell battery in the Kardia Mobile should last for approximately 1 year of normal use assuming 2-3 recordings a day. AF affects 1.4 million people in the UK, but it is thought that almost a further half a million people are undiagnosed and at increased risk from potentially fatal AF-related stroke.

ECGs are stored in the app which at the end of the recording displays the ECG trace, heart rate and classifies the recording into 1 of the following categories. The device can be used at any time, regardless if they show signs of symptoms or not. This ultimately means AF can be diagnosed faster, anticoagulation therapy can be prescribed to reduce the risk of an AF-related stroke and treatment for AF can be accelerated,” said Trudie Lobban MBE, founder and chief executive at Arrhythmia Alliance & AF Association. With KardiaMobile there are no leads, pads or gels to apply. The 'leads' refers to the number of perspectives which the ECG monitor can look at your heart. What six leads does it record? The KardiaMobile 6L displays and records Lead I, Lead II, Lead III, aVR, aVL and aVF ECG in real time to your phone or tablet. ECGs are stored in the app which at the end of the recording displays the ECG trace, heart rate and classifies the recording into 1 of the following categories. If you are unsure about your reading or are suffering from undiagnosed symptoms it is always recommended to seek help from a medical professional. Results can be easily exported from the KardiaApp.Unreadable. 'Unreadable' implies that there was too much interference during the recording. This could be electrical or sound interference.
