Making goals is something I’ve never done on my blog. I’ve always felt it restricts me as a blogger to always trying to conform to what other bloggers are doing. However, I’ve seen it really helps other bloggers track just what they are doing right and what they need to do to improve their blog. With it being the 1st of August today I’ve decided to set myself a few goals to see if there is a difference between when I don’t.
-Communicate more with other bloggers-
I try, like most bloggers, to communicate with other bloggers. But working a full-time job can get in the way. I try and set an evening or afternoon depending on how my half days off fall to do just that. I try commenting on as many posts from the lovely blogging community I’m a part of when I’ve seen they’ve posted. But like I say working full time it doesn’t always work that way. But this month I’m going to try and comment and showcase my love to bloggers I see that has posted a new blog post. I’ve downloaded the WordPress app onto my phone so hopefully, this will help. I want to showcase my support to other bloggers as much as they support me.
-Increase traffic to my blog-
This goal will most likely go hand in hand with the previous goal. So my blog can some days have over 80 views, other days it can be invisible. It all boils down to how much I showcase my blog on numerous websites. A lot of bloggers that post a blog post they’ve done and then promote it so much. I don’t, which is most likely the reason some days my blog can go unnoticed. I need to think of the time I also post my blog posts as I need to remember not everyone will see it at that point of the day.
-Do more on Instagram-
While writing this post I’ve just gotten over the 5000 followers mark on Instagram. It’s something I never thought I’d get too. But recently posting every single day it’s made me realise I really enjoy doing it. I love the connection it gives me to my followers who follow my blog but also connecting to those people who have never connected with me before. I love having a theme on my Instagram and I love the challenge I have when I’m out taking photos. It gives me something to look for when I’m out somewhere to take the photo I think will look so good. However, I never really go onto other people’s profiles and comment. I mainly scroll through the people I follow. Which isn’t going to get more people to see my profile. I love commenting on other people’s things so I should do it more often. Follow my Instagram: www.instagram.com/lukeheywoodstyle
-Try and do more fashion related posts-
When I started this blog it was more about fashion than anything else. Roll forward nearly 3 years of Luke Heywood Style and the fashion element of the blog is slowly dwindling. With lack of funds, it’s hard. But recently I’ve been doing more and more collaborative posts which are starting to fund me better. So this is a factor that could help me towards doing more fashion related posts. On the other hand, I could start doing more posts about my favourite picks from websites or talk about the Visual Merchandising element when I’m out in stores as that’s my full-time job. Fashion is a big passion of mine alongside photography. So I really want to start getting back into being creative like I used to do when I started my blog.
Setting these goals is something for me to work towards. In conclusion, I didn’t want to set up number goals as I don’t want to start getting bogged down with numbers. I’d like to be known as a good blogger that always gives back to the blogging community. There is nothing more I love than seeing other bloggers doing well and going after their dreams. I love being able to be a part of that by just sending them a lovely comment. I want to be known as the blogger who supports other bloggers.
