Having my week off from work has really helped me fuel my blog and Instagram. So yesterday I felt the need to just shut the blogging world out and have some down time with my friends. It meant not to go onto twitter and not thinking about anything blog related. I still used Instagram for the stories element but I love Instagram too much not to go on it.
Shrewsbury was the place Fiona and I decided to go. I haven’t seen Fiona since she started off at her new two nearly over 2 and half weeks ago. Time flies. We decided on having a nosey around Shrewsbury, basking in the sunshine down by the River. I also had told Fi I was taking her for an ultimate milkshake down at “The Pour House”. Fi was struggling with some outfits for work so I decided to help her try and find a few things out to add to her wardrobe. After our little shopping and trying on session we decided to go and have our ultimate milkshake from “The Pour House Shrewsbury”. A very old fashion cafe that is in the heart of Shrewsbury, If anyone ever has the chance to go there, you so should. They have incredible milkshakes that are huge which you can guarantee to get into a sticky mess. I had the cookies and cream milkshake. Fiona had the Nutella Dream Milkshake. After our sticky encounter with our milkshakes, we decided to get a few things for a picnic in the park next to the river. Watching the world go by and watching the dogs of Shrewsbury having the time of their lives. The sun had been over us all day it was starting to get a little uncomfortable so we decided to head home.
Ironbridge get ready, go!
Once I had come back and taken a shower, I started to get ready to head to Ironbridge to see one of my other friends that I had not seen for a while. Tom and I have been friends since back in the day when Tumblr was big. Both loving photography and the vintage ways of the world we get on so well. Cleo’s of Ironbridge is one of the best places in Ironbridge. Even more so when they have their 2 for 1 cocktails from 5-7. With that in mind, we had some cocktails and had a proper full catch up. It felt so long ago that we had done something like this. It was so nice to just catch up on each other’s lives. What we had both been up to and what we both had planned for the future. After our cocktails, we decided to take a stroll through Ironbridge and down by the river where we sat for the remainder of the night. In between taking photographs of course. The cap the night off I went and purchased some chips and sat by the river.
Even though we didn’t do anything spectacular or expensive I still had an amazing day. I enjoy exploring old towns, having a few cocktails and sitting by the river. It was just so nice to have a headspace away from all things blogging and social media. I put my hands up and say I think I over think things like going to places and making sure I take photos. I love taking photos as I’m a lover of photography. However, I’m always looking for photographs that will sit with my blog or my Instagram which is when the frustration overcomes me when I don’t have any and I’ve been somewhere amazing. I sometimes find it really hard having to try and think of content while I’m away. More so when I’m with my boyfriend as he finds it hard to understand why I always have to take photos. Which I can understand taking myself away from the blogging world. I shouldn’t have to detail every little detail of my life. I should be able to upload some parts and keep others private. Which to a degree now makes sense to me. However, You can’t take the photo out of the photographer.
