About this deal

But the character that gets the most care and attention, Corey, was introduced far too late in this franchise sub-trilogy. Hair is fine and clearly delineated, while skin pores and fine lines are clear, while clothing has subtle yet obvious differentials in their overall texture.

and yet upon release, the howls of derision that greeted the film from the most ardent sections of Halloween fandom (full disclosure: myself included) let Blumhouse (the film’s producers), Green and Curtis know that they had singularly failed to deliver on any of their hype or on their promises.

Well, on revisiting Halloween Ends now on 4K disc, it’s clear that that initial reaction was not quite true. The character of Corey is an excellent addition to the cast and Campbell delivers a dynamic performance – it’s just far too late to be introducing a character this important in the final chapter of the trilogy.

Most of his transformation would have been a great way to spend Halloween Kills instead of waiting for the next obnoxious chant of “ EVIL DIES TONIGHT. Try as she might to hide her pain, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is haunted by the death of her daughter as she puts on a brave face to embrace life. It was quite a bold approach to the final entry in the trilogy and is not what you'd expect it to be. Universal unleashes an excellent 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release with an excellent Dolby Vision transfer, an impressive Atmos audio track, and a fine assortment of bonus features to dig through.

And while narratives not being taken in the direction that some of the audience wants it to be may smack of a sense of entitlement from those parts of the viewing public, when it appears that in the case of Halloween Ends its nearly the entire audience that bemoans the problematic narrative, then the film itself clearly has major problems. narratively worthwhile, or universe building arc for him, never mind do anything to leave a lasting legacy on the franchise.

As the dust settles on David Gordon Green’s franchise trilogy, is it time for a reappraisal of the possibly misunderstood and hugely divisive final entry? Ends even takes this one step further by referencing other Carpenter films, such as Christine and its mirroring of that film’s put upon lead by this film (see the shared surname of both characters, as well as clothing similarities).Movements are cinematic and smooth with no issues from any sort of quick camera movements or character actions causing a jitter or blur.
