“The Beach cures all”
Barmouth beach has always been somewhere for a day of fun. It’s beach lying on the estuary of the River Mawddach and Cardigan Bay has a perfect spot of the summer. With its rail links and direct roads into Barmouth it’s the perfect place to take the family or like we did, go with friends for the day.
The sun was shining as soon as I awoke in the morning. I made sure I packed my trusty suncream in my bag and my amazing flamingo towel. Packing another set of clothes for the journey home, spare underwear and swimming trunks I was ready to hit the beach! Rocking my amazing Boohoo Man Co-ord I was so ready for the day. Fiona drove which was perfect as she has a convertible car. Which meant we could have the roof down. The wind summer sun was touching down on our skin while the very little breeze was going through our hair. Music was on and the car journey karaoke was in full swing.
Once we arrived at Barmouth we parked up, paid for parking and went straight to the beach. We found our perfect spot for the day in the sand dunes and set up camp. First thing I did was apply my suncream and made sure everywhere was covered (Which the day after I realised I hadn’t done everywhere) As the day slowly passed us by we decided to get food. Nothing too heavy as we were looking forward to our chips later on in the day. A picnic styled lunch it was. After Lunch, we found another perfect spot in the sand dunes to carry on with our sunning ourselves. We braved the very cold British sea and walked along the seafront. After a long day sunning ourselves it was time for a few amusements in the arcades which are right next to the beach and some chips to top the whole day off.
I had a lovely day with my best friend. We both need a day to just get away from everything and enjoy ourselves. I’m hoping for more adventures like this are to come. Here is a little YouTube video of our day:
