About this deal

This simply is one of the most inspirational and stunning movies of the last ten years and deserves to be in every cinema fans collection. I was particularly looking forward to seeing the brief teaser trailer (which ran, amazingly, with 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' that summer) in crystal-clean HD only to see a cropped, standard def teaser. Video is Absolutely superb, this movie got one hell of a makeover, could not fault a single area, the blacks are superb, the colors vibrant, truly a classic. While all those above actors did a fine job, the real show stealer has to be Meat Loaf Aday as Robert Paulson, who is stricken with “bitch tits,” but still manages to fight.

Two public service announcements are found here as well, one with each of the main characters, funny stuff indeed. With Blu-ray a few years away (but the writing on the wall) D-VHS provided a way to get pre-recorded high definition content into the home. The material on this site may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, cached or otherwise used except with the prior written permission of The Digital Bits, Inc. These scenes include an encounter with Chloe after a support group meeting, an alternate take of the fight with Angel Face, a voice over difference during the board meeting, deleted bookends to the fight with the boss, an alternate take on Tyler’s good-bye, an alternate take on the Fight Club paper found in the copier, and of course, the infamous “I want to have you abortion” line.

Many films after Fight Club tried to capitalize on Fincher’s visual mechanics and style, but none were as successful at it. Rounding out this package is a promotions gallery, which features lobby cards (1:30), the press kit which was in the form of a hilariously subversive 'Fight Club' catalog (2:5) and a collection of stills (13:05). The audio, on the other hand, is absolutely remarkable and a definite improvement over previous DVD releases. The little screen says something "notice how the simple addition of fades adds so much" which is kind of trite - but totally true! Fight club was photographed by Jeff Cronenweth, a then hot and upcoming Cinematographer who until that point hadn’t shot a major feature, but did have the advantage of being Blade Runner cinematographer Jordan Cronenweth’s son.

It's sort of hard to fathom that 'Fight Club,' David Fincher's blistering thriller, was released ten years ago.
