As many of you know I’ve finally taken the step to move out. I’ve found myself a beautiful little house to rent for the time being. I’ve moved out before but this time it’s different as it’s on my own and it’s a proper house. As much as I’m so nervous and anxious about the whole thing… I’m so excited to be able to decorate everything to my style. Put my personal stamp on it and showcase what I can do when it comes to home interior. I have a few ideas that I’m really looking forward to doing. Thanks to Pinterest, I have found myself scrolling endlessly through photographs of people’s homes. Mainly pinning photographs of minimalistic living rooms and amazing ideas for home interior. At the moment I’m in a whirlwind of creativity towards what I want things to look like but having the reality of budget restrictions to contend with isn’t the best thing when you have all these ideas. I’m looking forward to the whole process of moving out and doing things my way. I’m really wanting to start my YouTube up again when I’ve settled in and maybe even start doing some DIY videos on doing things around your home on a budget. But for now, I shall share some of the ideas I’m planning on doing. This first post will be about what ideas I have for the living room…
Above my sofa, I really would love to do a photo and quotes wall with different shaped frames. I have already started the collection off with getting an A4 Frame with the letter L on a plain white background. I plan to have a photo of my boyfriend and myself, along with a few quotes and maybe a marble print thrown in there as I just love marble. However, I do want to inject some colour into the room so I’ve gone with a green pillow to add to my black sofa that’s already in the property. I’ve had a wonderful follower purchase these pillows for me which was the nicest thing ever, this will be my splash of colour into the room. Which I shall also add into the photo frames with the marble and maybe even a leaf print canvas which showcases the green into it too. I shall also add some grey pillows to the sofa to add in the grey from the wall that’s in the living room. I would love a coffee table that’s either white or grey. But I have had some thoughts into making my own with a few pallets just like the one shown to the left. It’s something I really want to get into, now I’m out of my parent’s home, I want to get stuck into DIY and really show my talents. I’m forever building and making things up at work so now is my chance to really showcase something and do it myself. Like the photo, I would love a rug to go under the table which would possibly by either white or grey depending on what I feel. When I finally get around to buying a TV I would love for it to be stood on a antique chest, just like the one in the photo shown. I think it looks so chic and I’ve always wanted an antique chest since I can remember. I can then add little bits of decoration just like the photo to add some more homely touches to the chest.
Following my green/botanical theme throughout the living room I would love an artificial ( If it was real I would end up killing it) palm leaf tree of some sort that would just make my aesthetic within my room full of grey, white, black and hints of green. As you can tell I’m very excited to get into my house and start the process of making it mine.
What are your thoughts on having colour schemes or different schemes in your house or bedroom? What is your favourite theme?
