The entire concept of the book requires going back in time to various days to find out new information, that’s not dragging, that’s a book doing its job. Apparently it’s supposed to indicate you’re being friendly rather than cold and sarcastic… Feels like a lot of work to me. If you're looking for a fast, popcorn type of read this one is great, so long as you dial in and don't zone out while cooking dinner. In the opening pages of this time-travel mystery, a British woman watches in horror from her window as her 18-year-old son stabs a man on the street. A mystery thriller that played with your own natural thought process to piece together the story and the plot while the twists kept coming.She may not know her amiable husband Kelley as well as she thinks, and son Todd may have known his victim better than he claims. There is an element of moving forward in time from an undisclosed point at the same time as moving backwards in time from Jen's perspective, but it's weirdly not at all hard to follow. The synopsis leads you to believe that this is a Russian doll type of tale, and it would be correct, but I found myself in shock that the original mystery of the stabbing that occurs in chapter one isn't really the overarching focus of the plot. Devastated, she and her husband wait for answers at the police station after he is taken into custody.
