About this deal

The infrared part of the sunlight spectrum is, in simple terms, heat. When sunlight goes through your car window, the longer wavelengths of the rays cause the cabin of your car to warm up. In the summer, this can become unbearable in the warmer areas of the country. So, what can you do? Of course, you should look to park in the shade or inside a garage as often as possible. But when you can’t, a good choice of window tints can help. Please select the issue you are trying to resolve and all the relevant window film products will be available to you.

The percentage of VLT, which can be easily found on any window tint label, is the most important factor when it comes to the legality of tint. However, factory tinted windows can create a slight complication as the states regulate total tint, and not only the tint of the applied film. Thoroughly wash your windows inside and out. Don’t use ammonia-based cleaners like Windex, because these can make your tint turn purple. Instead, you can use a bit of dish soap, or any specialized car wash soap. When cleaning your windows, roll them up and down to get all of the edges and the lower part as well. Use a squeegee to get all of the water off your windows. Let your windows dry thoroughly.Peel off the protective layer, but don’t completely remove it. Peel around a half off, with the other half in place. Spray the exposed adhesive with a bit of clean water – don’t use soapy water for this step. WARNING: This modification is replacing your original Vehicles.meta, any mod which required you to change the vehicles.meta may not work after replacing it with my vehicles.meta. Now you know the basics. The choice to tint or not to tint is up to you. If you do choose to do it yourself, here are some options to consider. DIY Window Tinting Considerations

You must not use any of the darker tints unless the vehicle is specifically for off road use such as show cars. The rear windows can be as dark as you want as there is no law about these windows. Before you can apply your tint, you need to pre-condition your car windows and prepare everything you need for the installation to go smoothly. 1.1. Preparation Solar control window film, whether used in a commercial or residential setting, works by bouncing away a percentage of solar energy before it can enter a property and add to the internal temperature. It’s important to note that film will not make a property feel unnecessarily cold, instead, it will reject only excess heat, preventing the steady build-up of heat. This means that on a pleasant day, your property will benefit from an enjoyable temperature, without it rapidly increasing until it is uncomfortable. You may notice that it doesn’t exactly follow the window curvature very well. If this is the case, you can use a heat gun to shrink the plastic on the upper and lower ends, to make it a better fit for your window. It’s not easy to give an estimate on how long a window tint will last. This mostly depends on the type of the tint, but also exposure to the sun, and potential scratching damage. However, if you get a normal quality window tint, you can expect at least a couple of years of service from a single set. And if you decide to invest in a higher-quality ceramics set, you may get as much as ten years of use out of them. 2. When should I replace my window tint?

As is the case with the windshield, tinting your rear window isn’t the simplest process. Your rear window allows you to see what’s going on behind you when you’re on the road. If you tint your rear window too dark, you’ll end up having to rely on your side mirrors. This is why most states don’t allow you to tint your rear window very dark. The first way to classify window tint is by the cut. You can get pre-cut tint tailored for the model of your car, or you can get an entire roll of tint to measure and cut on your own. 1.1. Pre-cut film For the most part, you’ll have to keep your front side window tint pretty light. Many states have a limit of 35%, with some states going as low as 20% and others going as high as 70%. Every state in the United States has laws when it comes to tinting your windows. These laws tell you what type of tint you’re legally allowed to use, but it’s not as simple as buying a window film kit with the right VLT. While most states are pretty conservative when it comes to rear window tint darkness, there are actually some states that allow you to tint your rear window as dark as you want.

Light tint generally comes in colors that are closer to transparent, such as a light blue or even a yellow. Most people use light tint because it allows them to see out of their windows better.

Visible light transmission (VLT) is the most important metric to focus on when it comes to tint darkness. When people refer to “ 5% tint” or “ 20% tint,” they’re talking about the VLT level. So, what exactly does the VLT of window tint tell you? The Law - "Under regulations first issued 20 years ago and clarified three years ago, the windscreen must allow in at least 75 per cent of light while at least 70 per cent must pass through the driver's side windows"

In these directions, we will focus on explaining how to install tint from a roll, so our instructions will include measuring and cutting to window dimensions. If you opt for a set of pre-cut tints, your installation will be simpler, and you only need to follow the latter part of the directions. 1. Before You Start Car Window Tinting Still, some of these states require you to have dual side mirrors even if you’re only using 35% tint on your rear window. Finally, some cars come with pre-tinted windows. This tinting is done in the factory, and this is the only type of tint that is not removable. The process factories use to tint windows is called deep dipping. It gives rather good darkening results that don’t fade but deep dipped windows don’t offer a significant UV or heat protection. As you can imagine, it’s not possible to get your windows tinted this way after the car is already assembled. However, you can add additional tint film to your windows. Make sure to calculate the sum result of visible light transmission (VLT), taking into account both the original tint of your windows and the film! Window Tint Buying Guide You can clean your windows with a razor blade, but you should be careful when doing this. Don’t scrape your rear window with a razor blade if it has any defroster or antenna lines. On the other hand, if you have factory tinted windows, be careful not to scratch or damage the tint. It's possible to do it yourself to save the cost of labor, but there are some issues to consider before you decide to apply a car window tint yourself versus allowing a professional to handle it. The most obvious positive to taking the DIY route is that it's cheaper. If you're handy, patient, and have a clean area in which to work (such as a garage with little to no dust), applying window tint isn't especially hard. Then again, an experienced professional can generally do a better job while saving you time. The work often comes with a guarantee or warranty, and they can make sure the tint is legal, helping you avoid a citation.
