The product is great, does what its supposed to and is a marginal improvement over its previous iteration the UP86 ( wrecked mine) however the service was poor and it took over a week to arrive. Some tools have a saw attached or allow the user to replace the head with a saw for cutting through thicker branches, but this tool doesn’t. The one slight drawback is that they are not so easy to control when fully extended but I am sure this will become easier with practice.

We recently purchased a pole saw from the Stihl Kombi system, handy for taking off overhanging branches for the post driver. I’ve used the Gardena Starcut 410 Plus lopper to cut many hundreds of branches on trees and tall shrubs in 2022, and overall, I’m delighted with the tool’s performance. Has already proved to be invaluable and worked off the ground where a ladder would have been necessary before I bought this. and the average user will only be able to reach around 4m (13ft), which might not suit every garden. Some of the willows had branches over 12 inches in diameter (and were very rotten ) but you can cut from behind and out of harms way.

I tested this pruner in 2022 and put it through its paces by cutting hundreds of branches of variable thickness.
