About this deal

Double-cut burrs for use on non-ferrous materials and plastics tend to have wide chip space and are often referred to as Aluminum cut. Carbide burrs, also known as rotary files or die grinder bits, are among the most effective tools for a wide range of metal fabrication tasks. These include shaping, cutting, grinding, and removal of sharp edges. Apart from that, this tool is also functional in removing excess materials, also known as deburring.

However, there are some differences to keep in mind. First off, Dremel tools are generally smaller than die grinders. Dremel tools are a lot easier to hold in your hand and a lot easier to use with only one hand. Die grinders are bulkier, larger, and require you to keep a much firmer grip on them, or you could end up losing control. Good for rounded edges and surface finishing in difficult-to-reach areas or tight and narrow angles and contours. The round nose or ball nose cone is often referred to as a taper shape. Cylinder Burrs. Round Nose/Ball nose/End Cut Carbide Burrs also perform better at higher temperatures than high speed steel cutters so you can run them hotter, for longer. Weld Spots: If you do metalworking, then you know how annoying welds can be. A die grinder can easily remove the excess welds for smoother, cleaner looking metalwork. This is definitely a must-have tool if you do a lot of welding or metalwork of any kind. One of the more versatile, but often underappreciated tools out there is the die grinder. If you aren’t familiar with these tools, don’t worry because I imagine you aren’t alone in that regard. Even if people have heard of the name, I think that many people don’t actually know quite what these tools do.Many die grinders can be equipped with a blade sharpening attachment; these allow you to sharpen a wide variety of blades. You can use them for knives, hatchets, axes, and other any kind of blade that you can think of. They are great for those who don’t own a proper grindstone, but who still want to keep their blades nice and sharp. Is A Dremel A Die Grinder? Oval shaped head x 10mm cut length; cone shaped head x 13mm cut length; inverted cone shaped head x 7mm cut length. Carbide burrs are widely used for metalwork, tool making, engineering, model engineering, wood carving, jewellery making, welding, chamfering, casting, deburring, grinding, cylinder head porting and sculpting.

Straight die grinders are just regular die grinders. They are completely straight and almost resemble a sort of large screwdriver. Right Angle Die Grinders Another significant difference is how much variation there is. Dremel tools only come in one version, which is a handheld electric model. As I will go into more depth about, later on, die grinders come in two types, electric and pneumatic. So, if you already have an air compressor set up in your garage, then buying a die grinder makes more sense. There aren’t pneumatic options out there for Dremel rotary tools. Different uses mean the bits come with either a single or double-cutting profile. Single-cut burrs have a single cutting profile or ‘flute’ that runs from the top to the end in a spiral. This is ideal for:

All mains-powered and cordless die grinders have an electronic safety shutdown. The motor is switched off immediately when the tool used jams. This protects user and machine from sudden reverse torque. An integrated overload protection ensures long service life of the motor. The restart protection prevents unintentional start-up of the machine after a power cut to protect the user. The handy and slim design permits safe and low-fatigue handling of the tools in any working position and thus prevents a dangerous loss of control. Die grinders with long grinding spindle have a removable protective rubber cap for comfortable and safe working. A unique wheel-shaped burr with a smooth top, round edges and fluted sides. Great for channel work and shaping. Countersink Burrs There are two versions of electric grinders; corded and cordless. As you can guess the cordless version runs on rechargeable batteries. I am not a big fan of the cordless version of this tool. The batteries add unwanted bulk to the tool. Long shank carbide burrs can also be found, and these are great for detailed carving in hard-to-reach areas of your work. Head Diameter sizes:

Right angle die grinders work the same as straight die grinders, except for the fact that the bit on a right angle die grinder is perpendicular to the body. Straight vs Right Angle Die Grinder: Which Is Better?Double-cut options have two intersecting sets of flutes. This allows for much smoother surfaces and cleaner finishes in both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, but is particularly good in softer metals like aluminium and mild steel, in addition to wood and plastics. Use double-cut bits in:
