About this deal

Review: The third, controversial final album from Seattle's Nirvana should require little to no introduction. Nirvana’s self-titled 7 x platinum-selling posthumous collection Nirvana makes its debut as a standard single LP 180-gram heavyweight vinyl edition which will feature a download card.

Their major-label debut album, "Nevermind," released in 1991 by DGC/Geffen Records, broke both the band and grunge into mainstream America. Nirvana’s self-titled, double platinum-selling (United States) / 7x platinum-selling (Worldwide) posthumous collection Nirvana (Universal Music) makes its debut on 45rpm double LP, pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and packaged in a furnace black gatefold sleeve with liner notes and a digital download card for 24-bit 96kHz HD audio. Nevermind raised groundbreaking Seattle grunge trio Nirvana to the status of godhead, forever changing the face of the pop music market. Review: Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the third and final album from Nirvana should require little to know introduction. Originally released in 1991, the album has been been remastered and re-released to mark the 20th Anniversary of its original release.

Regarded as one of the most influential albums of all time, it includes the tracks 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', 'Come As You Are', 'Lithium' and 'In Bloom'. A more polished - but still beautifully scuzzy - set than its predecessor, the album turned the Seattle band into worldwide stars and made grunge indie-rock's most talked about sub-genre.

Prior to that, they were known as Skid Row (6), Pen Cap Chew (2), Bliss (108), Ted Ed Fred, Throat Oyster, and Windowpane. Also among the 14 classics on Nirvana: 1991’s breakthrough “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, and fellow Nevermind singles “Come As You Are”, and “In Bloom”, In Utero singles “Heart-Shaped Box” and “Pennyroyal Tea”, as well as deep cuts including “About A Girl” from first album Bleach, “Been A Son” from the Blew EP, the non-LP single “Sliver”, and live acoustic versions of “All Apologies” and David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” from the GRAMMY® winning MTV Unplugged In New York. Repressed, remastered and redefined over and over again, the Steve Albini-produced, mainstream-eschewing swansong has only grown to become one of the ugliest left-turns the 90s grunge scene ever spat out. VG+ (Very Good Plus): This record has clearly been played before, but has only a moderate reduction in sound quality, despite a possible slight loss of shine and some surface marks. Their musical legacy lives on each time a new generation licks into the grunt chromes of the music, or each time we get a reissue or special limited edition picture disc album like the one.

Nirvana’ was released following the settlement of a long standing legal dispute between Courtney Love and remaining Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, centered on the release format of the song ‘You Know You’re Right’ which was recorded at the band's last session in 1994. Review: By 1992 Nirvana weren't just in full swing, they'd done the unthinkable - turning the hardcore end of a rock 'n' roll sub genre that originated in the US Pacific Northwest into a global chart-topping phenomena. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. That's why each of our records is first meticulously cleaned and then not just inspected once, but twice, before a sample is play-tested to make sure it sounds as good as it looks.
