I have a dedicated stereo system, high end, and was a bit of a snob about playing 'serious music' on a blu-ray player with surround sound.

Crackles, sometimes all over a side (like the whole side D, which contains the most wonderful music if you'd ask me). Howard Shore's score for Peter Jackson's the Lord of the Ring Motion Picture Trilogy I have always felt to be one of the best and most iconic film scores of the 21st Century. The vinyls themselves are heavy weight which is nice to handle compared to some thinner vinyls I've seen in the past. You get a large booklet with lots of information about the music to the film which is a really good read for any fan. Breathtaking and majestic, the 2001 Oscar and Grammy winning score composed by Howard Shore also includes Enya's Oscar nominated 'May It Be'.and Stereo mixes of the entire score, a reactivation of the 2005 box set featuring the entire score from the extended versions of the film. But no, the total (booklet, box, map of middle earth) by appearance was way better and more premium, but the coloured vinyl they pressed that on isn't very clean either.

The contents is the same as on the CD: information on the compositor, the used leitmotifs, the instruments and the performance.The soundtrack also highlights two original songs written and performed by Enya: “May It Be” and “Aníron (Theme for Aragorn and Arwen).
