So I thought I’d do another YouTube video for you guys. I thought a video about my my wardrobe and what my favourite pieces are., so I picked just a few items out on what I love the most… Enjoy!
So It’s been a while since I did a favourite outfits post and because I brought a new t-shirt yesterday and the sun was shining today, I thought I’d put an outfit together that I really love. I also thought I would showcase my brown hair seeing as people wanted to see it when I got it done. I thought the grey was getting a little too much upkeep and so I thought just going a nice subtle colour close to my natural would look good.
While in Zara the other day I noticed that they had a lot of new prints which were bold and colourful. The t-shirt I’m wearing in my photo at the moment is my most colourful item of clothing. which for me makes me sad. As I’m a colourful person I really need to re-invent my wardrobe and inject so much more colour into it. The t-shirts from Zara are very reasonably priced at £19.99 and very good quality. My trousers are women’s trousers/joggers from my work. Marks and Spencer’s. They’re from the Limited section and are the most comfiest trousers I own. I got them in size 10 thinking they’d fit but they are just a tad big and would have got away with an 8, so I have to keep pulling them up every 5 minutes. The trousers were a good buy as they were £10 in the sale but with my 20% discount I got them even cheaper, I do love a bargain. My sandals are something I wanted last year but silly me left it till the last-minute and didn’t get them. However this year I saw them on Topman and had to buy them. They come in Tan or Black. Black just goes with everything so I stuck with black. They’re so comfortable and the first time I’ve ever worn sandals since I was little. I definitely want to buy the tan coloured ones to create new summer outfits with other colours that will go with Tan. The sandals are £60 from Topman but I got them cheaper with a gift card I had from christmas however I do know Zara have some sandals which are very similar!
Just like Miranda Priestly said in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ “Floral for Spring? Groundbreaking! However I’m really loving all the different types of floral there is, some places are mixing the florals print with china prints such as Marks and Spencers where I work. They have a whole collection called china blue where it has florals mixed with a blue china print. Places like Topman, Zara and River Island have also jumped on this trend. To floral bomber jackets (which are my personal favourite at the moment) to floral trousers.
Floral bombers are something that I’m loving right now, I recently brought the Zara floral bomber/jacket on my birthday wish list which has very stylised flowers on the front of it that compare to that of a Vanitas painting (pictured to the right) I love the style and the colours of this jacket a big winner from Zara! Topman has also done an amazing floral bomber/Harrington jacket which I fell in love with instantly. I just love how vibrant and colourful the floral theme is and how it all blends together. It’s a definitely going to be a purchase of mine!
Another few items that have caught my eye with the floral trend are a floral sweatshirt from, yes you’ve guessed it Zara. Zara do floral so well, they have such a wide range of different styles I love this white sweatshirt with the single red rose and rose leaves. I love the contrast against the white, it’s a perfect dress down sweatshirt to throw on over skinny jeans or black skinny joggers.
Another winner from Zara is these floral trousers. I’ve always wanted a floral pair of trousers that aren’t too out there. This subtle print of floral is just enough, teamed with a simple plain white t-shirt with sandals and sunglasses you have the perfect summer outfit. A perfect combination for a holiday outfit in the sun!
If you’re not brave enough to go full floral then add a bud a of floral instead of a whole rockery full of flowers. By just adding accessories to your outfits that have floral design on them, you will then be immersing yourself with the floral trend and adding a touch more colour to your outfits. Why not add a floral bow tie from ASOS to your outfit? Or why not add a floral kick to your step and go with a floral shoe from ASOS instead?
So as you all know I’ve been to Disneyland Paris this week and my gosh was it amazing. Not only did I venture to Disneyland but my friends and I took a train into Paris and had a long adventure around Paris. 4 days of pure magic and excitement has exhausted me but it was so worth it.
Monday 23rd of March, I woke up at 3.30 filled with excitement. We arrived at the airport 2 and half hours beforehand and so we decided we could treat ourselves to have a Frankie and Benny’s breakfast. After checking in and sorting all our cases out we were ready to board our plane. I was a tad nervous while boarding the plane as I hadn’t been on one for 16 years and when you’re a kid you just don’t care but being 23 your mind goes on overdrive with what can go wrong. The flight was only short but I really worked myself up and got myself into a bit of a state. However one we’ve had gone through border control etc, it was time to get aboard the Disney shuttle bus that would take us straight to our Disney hotel. I could feel the excitement building up in me like nothing else before. The sun was out and made the sky a crisp blue which was something we didn’t see in England before we left. A 25 minute trip later on the bus and I could see in the distance Disney Studios. I think I nearly squealed with excitement. Our hotel was the Santa Fe, a cars themed hotel which was beyond amazing! After dropping our suitcases and things in our hotel room, we hopped on the shuttle bus that take us to the park and we let the magic begin. The outfit I was rocking was topped off with my first purchase in Disneyland and that was my Mickey Mouse ears. A floral bomber from Zara that was one my wish list before my birthday, with my burgundy roll neck and skinny jeans. I did wear my cape in the morning on the way to the airport due to it being so cold. Most of the day was spent taking in the sights of around the park and being huge kids in the Disney Store. We eat in few places like Hakuna Matata restaurant which was basically our first meal being in Disneyland. Then on the evening we ate in Billy Bob’s restaurant. Being awake for so long killed us, as well as the stress of the airport we we’re ready for bed that night!
The first part of day 2 consisted of heading the to the Walt Disney Studios to have a look at all the movie aspects of Disney. It was really interesting and just so cool. Getting to see all the movies like Toy Story, Monsters inc, Ratatouille and Finding Nemo in one place. My outfit for day 2 consisted of my Vintage Mickey mouse jumper with my dungarees and of course topped off with my Mickey Mouse ears. The only full picture of my outfit is this one with Mike from Monsters inc (sorry about the blur) We then went back into the main park and went on a few rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice’s Curious Labyrinth. We didn’t eat too much on that day because we had a reservation within the Cafe’ Mickey, so we went to an all you can eat buffet within the Buzz Lightyear Restaurant the food was lovely. After returning back to the hotel to freshen up and have a change of outfit we returned back to the Disney Village for our reservation to Cafe’ Mickey. A Cafe’ where you sit and have a meal and all the Disney characters come around your table and you can have your photograph with them. This was the one thing I was waiting for the whole holiday. I just couldn’t wait. Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Goofy were in the night we was in the Cafe’. I got a photograph with them all. The food was also sogood!
Day 3 consisted of Paris. We got on a train all on our own because the people at the information desk didn’t help us at all, we spoke to them in English and they spoke to us back in French. Super helpful. However we made it to Paris and with a help of a trusty map we walked all around Paris to all the locations we wanted to go see. We saw the ppadlock bridge, The Notre Dame, The Louvre, The Arc De Triumph and most of all The Eiffel Tower. We went up the Eiffel tower which I can only make half way because I’m terrified of heights and also lifts. But I got to the second platform which I’m proud of myself to even get that far. photo to the left is the view from the second platform My outfit for Paris was my neoprene Zara coat, my peg leg trousers from ASOS, striped topman jumper, my fedora hat and my leather satchel back pack. It had a very Parisian vibe and I loved it so much. However the weather was windy and a tad cold so I did suffer a little but it was so worth it. After spending the day in Paris we took the train back to Disneyland to watch the Disney Dreams fireworks which was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.
The final day of our stay, most of the day was spent packing and getting ready to go home. We went to the park for the last time and brought lots of souvenirs and gifts for people. I got a lot of souvenirs for myself which I love! My last outfit of the holiday consisted of my brand new Mickey Mouse hoodie I purchased while staying in the park, with my skinny jeans, my trench coat and of course my mickey mouse ears. The last day was so sad, it just went so quickly. We were trying to take as many photos as possible before we left to make sure we had lots of memories from the holiday. This holiday was my first holiday in 16 years and I spent it with my favourite people in the world. It was the best birthday I could ever of wished for and it just was amazing. We are already in talks about going to Disney world next year! I hope so because that’ll be sun, sun, sun and Disney for 2 whole weeks!! How amazing would that be?? The picture below just shows all of the souvenirs I brought for myself. I did get gifts for other people who also included mugs, socks, tea towels and magnets. Best holiday of my life so far. I just can’t wait to go to Florida if it goes ahead!
I might have gone a little wild with the amount of clothes I have purchased this month due to going on holiday and also my birthday yesterday (March 19th), I wanted to make sure I had some options with my outfits for when I go to Disneyland and Paris for the day.
So let’s start with the top left hand corner, we have some sunglasses which were a bargain off eBay at £3.99. I have some very similar with tortoiseshell on the frames. I wanted a simple black pair to just go with any outfit.
Moving down we have some peg leg joggers from the women’s section of Marks and Spencers, Limited section. They’re super comfy and they were such a bargain at £12.00 then I got my 20% discount on top taking them down to something like £9.60 which was amazing. Originally £35 I just had to have them. They are something to lounge in and if I’m not having a very fashionable day then these will definitely by my go to trousers.
This next one is another bargain. From eBay for just £27.81. This seasons Zara perforated/hole leather jacket. I wanted this from Zara when it first came out and when I saw it on eBay I had to let the bidding war commence. It’s such a versatile jacket as it’s formal looking yet you can dress it up or down. It’s a lightweight jacket also, so it will be perfect for those summer nights that are on the horizon.
This t-shirt has to be my all time favourite of all time. Also from eBay for just £3,00. I just love the slogan “More issues than Vogue” It’s so funny and eye-catching. It’s perfect to just throw on under a blazer or jacket to give your look an edgy yet sharp look with a bit of humour added to it. I have a Polaroid of me wearing this t-shirt on my birthday evening out with my best friends.
Zara stole my heart on this next purchase. A floral bomber jacket, and can I say a floral bomber jacket done properly. Most of the time they’re not very nice floral, but Zara got it and the colouring on this jacket is beautiful. I’ve wanted for so long and with my Zara gift card I got for my birthday I went and brought it. £39.99 it was but I paid £19.99 due to my gift card. Total bargain!
Mickey mouse are obviously needed as my trip to Disneyland is in 3 days. I’ve already told my friends that I shall be wearing them everyday with my outfits!
I needed a striped jumper for my “Paris look” for when I go to Paris for the day. I thought my roll neck would work but after wearing the outfit I planned to go to Paris with I didn’t like how the blue clashed with the dark camel colour of my trench coat. I saw this jumper on eBay starting bid for 0.99p so I thought I might aswell get it. Originally Topman and £40, I bided and I got another bargain at just £3.00.
Another pair of sunglasses and these are amazing! They have “Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye” around the frames. They’re super oversized which I love with any sunglasses, and they’re just another fun way to add something different to your outfit. Purchased from Choies, which are a very cheap yet super amazing products seller online!
Zara again with this beautiful floral t-shirt. This t-shirt is very similar to the floral bomber I purchased at Zara. It has the floral pattern along the sides and then meets in the middle. £19.99 for this beauty which I think is very reasonable for a printed t-shirt of this quality.
These sandals from Topman have to be one of my favourite buys. Originally priced at £69.00 I purchased them for just £30. Due to having a Topman gift card that hadn’t been used since christmas as well as a 20% off code I found online. I wanted some similar sandals last year which came out around the same time. They’re super comfortable and I can’t wait to get my summer on and wear them!
Starting on the left I have the classic tassel loafer from ASOS, I’ve always loved loafers I already have a brown pair that I brought from a charity shop that were in a box and had never been worn. I love the black pair though as they just are timeless and will go with anything. Definitely a statement piece for the upcoming Spring and Summer season.
A watch is something I definitely need. They’re practical and stylish, But to me a watch is a watch and I don’t need anything fancy or I need to take a loan out for, because let’s face it they do one simple thing and that’s tell us the time. So ASOS do this simple yet stunning watch which I really like.
A nautical theme always hold a strong place in my heart, so when I saw this blue and white nautical looking shirt from Zara I instantly fell in love. It’s a simple shirt but it just looks so nice, teamed up with the tassel loafers and a pair of black shorts, I have the perfect nautical look for the summer months.
Skinny Jeans are something I wear a lot of, and finding a pair that are actually super skinny is proving harder and harder for me. But looking on ASOS I might have found a solution. These super spray on skinny jeans look very skinny and just the colour I’ve always wanted. Anything with a pair of skinny jeans is always a look.
This floral bomber jacket is something I most certainly will be getting when I go to Paris next week! I’ve recently purchased the t-shirt which is similar to this from Zara (Perfect Purchases post to follow after this one) So this Floral jacket is so elegant yet so stylish. From Zara they have a floral theme going on at the moment which I love. Zara are very good at playing hard and soft. Playing with the harshness of the black with the delicate colours of the flowers.
Topman have done a lot of these blazer stripe t-shirts and I’ve loved every single one. But red being my favourite colour this one has stood out to me by a long shot. Looking at my wardrobe at the moment there isn’t much colour so this Topman t-shirt would definitely brighten up my wardrobe and my outfits for the Spring and Summer season ahead.
Spring has finally sprung, with its pastel colours contrasting with the reminiscence of the dark and drab winter fashion. Walking around most of the retailers now everywhere has pops of colour, blue, pink and yellow being the strongest of the colour pop. I love the fact that the old winter stock is starting to filtrate out and the new season is upon us, Topman is one of the main retailers at the moment that seem to being doing this very well. With soft pastel jumpers being teamed up with the harsh darkness of monochrome to add a tiny splash of colour to the mix. The pink and blue jumpers are just some of the new lines added to Topman for the new spring season. Adding a black or grey duster coat (like pictured) or a leather jacket (like pictured) with dark jeans or trousers will give it that new twist on the monochrome look. Finishing the look with either black or white shoes, boots for a more grungy kind of look or trainers for a casual styling. If you’re feeling a bit more daring with colours why not try this pastel blue smoking jacket from Topman Limited as the main focus. Build your monochrome look with a splash of black underneath the pastel spring colour.
I love the monochrome look it gives any person an element of mystery and sophistication in just one look, I wear a lot of black (As seen here and here) at the moment due to it being winter but as soon as I start seeing some more infiltration of Spring within the retailers I’ll definitely start brightening up my wardrobe.
I’m going to try and do a Trend Report every time I see new things coming into shops or if something catches my eye that a lot of shops are doing so I can keep you guys in the loop. So at the moment walking around the shops I can see a very strong trend coming through. Tropical Print, if it’s not a strong Hawaiian bold styled print it’s a subtle Tropical vibe with floral flowers or even exotic animals. There are many options for you to wear this trend. From shirts, t-shirts, jumpers even shorts and blazers. I personally love this trend I’ve seen it come through on the clothes at work (Marks and Spencer’s) on the women’s clothes and I thought how cool would it be for other shops to jump on the band wagon and start doing these kind of prints on mens clothes. Then a week or two later and it’s everywhere. I really love the bold prints with the vibrant pop of colour to brighten any outfit. I love how you can dress yourself as a tropical rain forest with a head to toe look or just you could just have a subtle hint of tropical with a Flamingo. There are so many variations of the print which is something else I really love. You have full on Hawaiian dad shirt print to the fern leaf print or just a full on jungle. It’s a very summery print and will brighten up a dull summers day or even brighten up the 4 day sun period we get here in the UK. I’ve put some examples of a few of the trends on here. They all range from Topman, Zara, H&M and River Island.
So late January and early February purchases have gone done so well. Yet again I’ve strayed away from any sales because it’s all just so rubbish, just stuff that nobody wants. So I’ve been on the prowl for holiday outfits as well as just things I really want.
Let me start with my amazing trench coat, my personal favourite out of all my purchases this year. Purchased from Zara it’s a coat I’ve always wanted. It’s a neoprene fabric so it’s much thicker than that of a normal trench coat, so it’ll keep me warm on my day trip to Paris with the girls. It’s comes down to my thigh, I did wish it was just a little longer but I can’t have everything I suppose. It’s such a sleek design and it looks so much more expensive than what it was. for £79.00 it’s a beautiful coat. I’m very happy and can’t wait to put my Paris outfit together to show all of you.
As you all know I have a thing for Fedora hats, I always wear my black one and I thought it was time to buy another one from Topman . So I picked a burgundy one as I brought some Burgundy monk shoes in December which I though would go well together. Adding a hat to an outfit, makes the outfit I think.
Another of my favourites from my purchases is my Mickey Mouse jumper. A massive bargain purchased from eBay just for £7. It’s my jumper that I’ll be wearing when I go to the airport when we go to Disneyland Paris as I’ll be straight in the park when we get there. It’s a fun design and goes with anything. It’s a little short in the body but I will team it with a pair of high waist pair of trousers.
I love a good roll neck and this striped, Parisian themed roll neck from ASOS. Roll necks are very big at the moment so it’s bang on trend. I thought it’d be very fitting for when I go to Paris to incorporate into my Paris outfit. Teamed up with my trench coat and some high waist black cigarette trousers it’s going to be a very Parisian chic look.
As you all know I love tartan. So I could resist this beautiful red.blue, yellow and white tartan scarf from River Island. I love how vibrant the red is and you can never have too much Tartan in your life. I teamed my scarf up with my trench coat today and I really loved how the vibrant red stood out along side the pale colour of my coat.
Monk strap shoes right now have become my new favourite show. I now have 3 pairs adding these new black pair to the collection. I just love how formal looking they are but yet they’re a casual shoe. I love the buckles on the side and the wedge heel running along the bottom of the shoe. Another item of clothing that will appear in my Paris look.
So my cape from Topman came yesterday and I decided to think of some outfits that I could put with this cape. I instantly thought of my white shirt, skinny jeans rolled up with little black socks, teamed up with my patent brogues. Then around my neck I wore my black neck tie with my stag brooch on and to top it all off my fedora hat which I later added in the pictures below. I also had another outfit which just replaced the shirt for an oversized baggy white knitted jumper.
The cape is an amazing accessory to have in winter, it’s surprising how much it keeps you warm. Definatly worth the money, I’d recommend it to anyone. Thank you Topman!
