One of my all time favourite designers and fashion icons are now taking the plunge into designing menswear. Henry Holland who is renowned for his unique, quirky and fun fashion for women. His much-loved fashion are worn by many celebrities such as the likes of Lily Allen, Alexa Chung and Katy perry. His first menswear collection has taken inspiration from youth culture and tribal uniforms, drawing on teddy boys casuals, buffalo kids and ravers. Pieces from the collection will be available for purchase at Selfridge’s in London where the presentation will be presented of a gallery exhibition, showcasing the clothes in conjunction of the work of photographer and photojournalist Martin Parr. As well as London Selfridges there will also be showcases at Opening Ceremony in New York, and the galeries Lafayette in Paris and Beijing.
I’m really excited about this collection, as all the influences sound so on par with what I love. It’ll be exciting to see how he keeps his brand identity within his menswear collection like he does with his womenswear. I love his use of slogans and bright colours along with his clashing of patterns, I for one will most certainly be a big fan regardless of what he showcases!
House of Holland has announced it will launch a men’s collection on June 14.
