About this deal

He had to overcome his reputation as a playboy, and his history with Harlow’s half-sister, Nan, a woman with a reputation of her own. Harlow loved Grant deeply, loved him still, but she wasn’t convinced that a happily ever after was in the cards for the two of them.

Grant was a big fraidy cat in book one but I didn’t mind because it was believable for a guy to mess up with a great girl like he did. While in the beginning of their relationship the focus stayed on the chemistry between these characters and the irresistible attraction that wouldn't allow them to be apart, this part of their story is all about the emotions, the sacrifices, the dreams, the hopes. I get Kiro is trying to understand why she’s not getting an abortion, but that, combined with Harlow’s earlier thoughts of her grandma made me think that her grandma was religious and didn’t believe in abortions.I can understand why grant is finding it hard to accept what is happening, and that he is coming round.

Grant becomes the perfect guy with the assistance of Blaire and Rush who were like his advisors in this book (love these two). She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she being born in Alabama, her life in New England is as close as she will get.He was really able to man up and do what was right throughout the story, which was supporting Harlow. One of the things I love about this series is getting the dual POV's, otherwise, it just wouldn't work. Going into this book two I was excited to see how this playboy/Nan’s bitch planned on redeeming himself. Because we all know that it's different, so, so different when it's that someone who's holding your hand.

Harlow's not doing much better but I guess it was a bit more understandable as to why she was staying away. And Harlow thinking she live just based off wanting to be there for her child…hope can go a long way, but again, her pregnancy could very will kill her, and hope can’t overcome that. She did an amazing job, and as hard as her choices were she definitely had the love and support of her friends and family. This time around, Grant has replaced his selfishness and careless disregard for Harlow's feelings, with heartfelt gestures and sweetness. have my feeling changed towards her NO not really BUT maybe she needs to feel the love of a great person, and that she gets her own HEA. I really enjoy AG books but this book for me lacked chemistry and Harlow was too tstl she was way too timid and annoying. When he discovered the truth behind her sheltered upbringing, it shattered their relationship, but the secret she carries now has far greater consequences.
