About this deal

Surface Preparation - 1. Remove any loose material such as old paint, grease, dirt, mould or defective wallpaper. Soluguard Multi-Surface Biocide can be used for wetting mould-contaminated wallpaper prior to removing it. 2. Make good any defects in the surface and rub down to a smooth finish. 3. Wash and clean all surfaces (walls, ceilings, window frames and joinery) using Soluguard Multi-Surface Biocide. If necessary clean badly affected areas a second time. 4. Allow to dry thoroughly. 5. If necessary, apply an appropriate primer or sealer to new, unprimed or porous plaster and wooden surfaces or bare metal. 6. For new or porous plaster surfaces use Dryzone System Mould-Resistant Emulsion Paint thinned up to 10% with clean tap water as normal good practice. Allow to dry thoroughly. It’s very easy to apply and once fully set leaves a soft sheen finish in magnolia resulting in a look that is sophistic yet simple. Unlike most other paints on our list, Dulux has the advantage of providing a lovely soft sheen finish that doesn’t need to be painted over once set. The cool neutral range of colours means you can choose any colour from White Mist to Slate Grey, leaving your bathroom with a modern chic look. Our high quality mould resistant emulsion is easy to apply with roller or brush after preparing the problem surface. Preparation When it comes to damp proof products, Dryzone are one of the first brands to come to mind for us so any list about anti mould paint is naturally going to warrant a double inclusion. This time, we’re talking about their magnolia paint.

Independent: We will tell you exactly what we think of a product and we would never recommend anything we wouldn't use ourselves. The Easy Care Bathroom paint is an incredibly tough and durable soft sheen emulsion that has the ability to exceptionally resist moisture and steam. It’s for this reason, when painting bathrooms we always recommend using this particular product. This particular paint is professional strength (but lower odour) and is one of the most effective paints when it comes to preventing damp and mould even against the most persistent condensation. Whilst we went for Ronseal’s anti mould paint as our number one choice for DIYers, all the paints/additives we’ve included will do a good job at inhibiting mould growth. The paint prevents mould growth for up to five years, protecting your interior surfaces from deterioration as well as the health of you and your loved ones.

Important note: PermaSEAL Mould Resistant paint isn’t suitable for use on wood, metal or plastic or external surfaces. Please also note that this paint may not be suitable for older or listed buildings where lime plasters and breathability are key. Bathroom mould resistant paintWhilst the majority of paints on this list are perfect for the average DIYer due to their ease of application and value for money, sometimes there’s nothing quite like using the best product that’s trusted by professionals.

Apply Mould Resistant Paint to your wall or ceiling with a standard paintbrush or roller. Two coats are necessary and we recommend waiting for 2 to 4 hours between coats. PermaPROTECT - Lasting Solutions. Proven Protection.Ronseal isn’t the cheapest anti mould option on the market but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. If you want to prevent mould growth, this is the paint for you. For example, if your bathroom suffers from condensation, you could look into installing a proper ventilation system. These might be expensive to install but mould resistant paint is only really going to work for a few years before you’ll need to paint it again. Can You Paint Over Mould With Anti Mould Paint? Instructions for Use - 1. Apply Dryzone System Mould-Resistant Emulsion Paint using brush or roller. When it comes to overall quality and value for money, anti mould paints don’t get much better than Ronseal. This bathroom specific paint is not only useful in a practical sense of preventing mould, it also gives you an elegant finish that’s tough to match with typical mould resistant paints.

If freedom to customise is your top priority, this anti mould additive might be the solution you’re looking for.Anti mould paint is more an inhibitor than a straight up fungicide so if you were thinking about painting over mould with anti mould paint, we’d advise against it. Start by removing any loose materials and make good any defects. Once you’ve achieved a smooth and clean finish surface, you should use a diluted mould wash concentrate. This will kill the spores in the surface. In my professional opinion I would avoid purchasing budget anti mould paints. Adding biocides which will ultimately protect your surfaces from mould growth isn’t cheap. So chances are, a budget anti mould paint isn’t going to have a high content of biocides.
