So this is my first giveaway and I shall just say it’s not going to be an amazing one. I was looking at my clothes rail full of clothes and thinking what of that have I hardly ever worn and these 3 items of clothing stuck out the most. So I’m giving the chance for one lucky person to win all of 4 items including the necklace. I know it doesn’t look a lot but this is my first giveaway. Comment below and share to be in for a chance. Jumper is a Boohoo small. Shirt is an ASOS small and bomber jacket is a women’s H&M Medium/Large.
Just like Miranda Priestly said in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ “Floral for Spring? Groundbreaking! However I’m really loving all the different types of floral there is, some places are mixing the florals print with china prints such as Marks and Spencers where I work. They have a whole collection called china blue where it has florals mixed with a blue china print. Places like Topman, Zara and River Island have also jumped on this trend. To floral bomber jackets (which are my personal favourite at the moment) to floral trousers.
Floral bombers are something that I’m loving right now, I recently brought the Zara floral bomber/jacket on my birthday wish list which has very stylised flowers on the front of it that compare to that of a Vanitas painting (pictured to the right) I love the style and the colours of this jacket a big winner from Zara! Topman has also done an amazing floral bomber/Harrington jacket which I fell in love with instantly. I just love how vibrant and colourful the floral theme is and how it all blends together. It’s a definitely going to be a purchase of mine!
Another few items that have caught my eye with the floral trend are a floral sweatshirt from, yes you’ve guessed it Zara. Zara do floral so well, they have such a wide range of different styles I love this white sweatshirt with the single red rose and rose leaves. I love the contrast against the white, it’s a perfect dress down sweatshirt to throw on over skinny jeans or black skinny joggers.
Another winner from Zara is these floral trousers. I’ve always wanted a floral pair of trousers that aren’t too out there. This subtle print of floral is just enough, teamed with a simple plain white t-shirt with sandals and sunglasses you have the perfect summer outfit. A perfect combination for a holiday outfit in the sun!
If you’re not brave enough to go full floral then add a bud a of floral instead of a whole rockery full of flowers. By just adding accessories to your outfits that have floral design on them, you will then be immersing yourself with the floral trend and adding a touch more colour to your outfits. Why not add a floral bow tie from ASOS to your outfit? Or why not add a floral kick to your step and go with a floral shoe from ASOS instead?
So as you all know I’ve been to Disneyland Paris this week and my gosh was it amazing. Not only did I venture to Disneyland but my friends and I took a train into Paris and had a long adventure around Paris. 4 days of pure magic and excitement has exhausted me but it was so worth it.
Monday 23rd of March, I woke up at 3.30 filled with excitement. We arrived at the airport 2 and half hours beforehand and so we decided we could treat ourselves to have a Frankie and Benny’s breakfast. After checking in and sorting all our cases out we were ready to board our plane. I was a tad nervous while boarding the plane as I hadn’t been on one for 16 years and when you’re a kid you just don’t care but being 23 your mind goes on overdrive with what can go wrong. The flight was only short but I really worked myself up and got myself into a bit of a state. However one we’ve had gone through border control etc, it was time to get aboard the Disney shuttle bus that would take us straight to our Disney hotel. I could feel the excitement building up in me like nothing else before. The sun was out and made the sky a crisp blue which was something we didn’t see in England before we left. A 25 minute trip later on the bus and I could see in the distance Disney Studios. I think I nearly squealed with excitement. Our hotel was the Santa Fe, a cars themed hotel which was beyond amazing! After dropping our suitcases and things in our hotel room, we hopped on the shuttle bus that take us to the park and we let the magic begin. The outfit I was rocking was topped off with my first purchase in Disneyland and that was my Mickey Mouse ears. A floral bomber from Zara that was one my wish list before my birthday, with my burgundy roll neck and skinny jeans. I did wear my cape in the morning on the way to the airport due to it being so cold. Most of the day was spent taking in the sights of around the park and being huge kids in the Disney Store. We eat in few places like Hakuna Matata restaurant which was basically our first meal being in Disneyland. Then on the evening we ate in Billy Bob’s restaurant. Being awake for so long killed us, as well as the stress of the airport we we’re ready for bed that night!
The first part of day 2 consisted of heading the to the Walt Disney Studios to have a look at all the movie aspects of Disney. It was really interesting and just so cool. Getting to see all the movies like Toy Story, Monsters inc, Ratatouille and Finding Nemo in one place. My outfit for day 2 consisted of my Vintage Mickey mouse jumper with my dungarees and of course topped off with my Mickey Mouse ears. The only full picture of my outfit is this one with Mike from Monsters inc (sorry about the blur) We then went back into the main park and went on a few rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice’s Curious Labyrinth. We didn’t eat too much on that day because we had a reservation within the Cafe’ Mickey, so we went to an all you can eat buffet within the Buzz Lightyear Restaurant the food was lovely. After returning back to the hotel to freshen up and have a change of outfit we returned back to the Disney Village for our reservation to Cafe’ Mickey. A Cafe’ where you sit and have a meal and all the Disney characters come around your table and you can have your photograph with them. This was the one thing I was waiting for the whole holiday. I just couldn’t wait. Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Goofy were in the night we was in the Cafe’. I got a photograph with them all. The food was also sogood!
Day 3 consisted of Paris. We got on a train all on our own because the people at the information desk didn’t help us at all, we spoke to them in English and they spoke to us back in French. Super helpful. However we made it to Paris and with a help of a trusty map we walked all around Paris to all the locations we wanted to go see. We saw the ppadlock bridge, The Notre Dame, The Louvre, The Arc De Triumph and most of all The Eiffel Tower. We went up the Eiffel tower which I can only make half way because I’m terrified of heights and also lifts. But I got to the second platform which I’m proud of myself to even get that far. photo to the left is the view from the second platform My outfit for Paris was my neoprene Zara coat, my peg leg trousers from ASOS, striped topman jumper, my fedora hat and my leather satchel back pack. It had a very Parisian vibe and I loved it so much. However the weather was windy and a tad cold so I did suffer a little but it was so worth it. After spending the day in Paris we took the train back to Disneyland to watch the Disney Dreams fireworks which was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.
The final day of our stay, most of the day was spent packing and getting ready to go home. We went to the park for the last time and brought lots of souvenirs and gifts for people. I got a lot of souvenirs for myself which I love! My last outfit of the holiday consisted of my brand new Mickey Mouse hoodie I purchased while staying in the park, with my skinny jeans, my trench coat and of course my mickey mouse ears. The last day was so sad, it just went so quickly. We were trying to take as many photos as possible before we left to make sure we had lots of memories from the holiday. This holiday was my first holiday in 16 years and I spent it with my favourite people in the world. It was the best birthday I could ever of wished for and it just was amazing. We are already in talks about going to Disney world next year! I hope so because that’ll be sun, sun, sun and Disney for 2 whole weeks!! How amazing would that be?? The picture below just shows all of the souvenirs I brought for myself. I did get gifts for other people who also included mugs, socks, tea towels and magnets. Best holiday of my life so far. I just can’t wait to go to Florida if it goes ahead!
I might have gone a little wild with the amount of clothes I have purchased this month due to going on holiday and also my birthday yesterday (March 19th), I wanted to make sure I had some options with my outfits for when I go to Disneyland and Paris for the day.
So let’s start with the top left hand corner, we have some sunglasses which were a bargain off eBay at £3.99. I have some very similar with tortoiseshell on the frames. I wanted a simple black pair to just go with any outfit.
Moving down we have some peg leg joggers from the women’s section of Marks and Spencers, Limited section. They’re super comfy and they were such a bargain at £12.00 then I got my 20% discount on top taking them down to something like £9.60 which was amazing. Originally £35 I just had to have them. They are something to lounge in and if I’m not having a very fashionable day then these will definitely by my go to trousers.
This next one is another bargain. From eBay for just £27.81. This seasons Zara perforated/hole leather jacket. I wanted this from Zara when it first came out and when I saw it on eBay I had to let the bidding war commence. It’s such a versatile jacket as it’s formal looking yet you can dress it up or down. It’s a lightweight jacket also, so it will be perfect for those summer nights that are on the horizon.
This t-shirt has to be my all time favourite of all time. Also from eBay for just £3,00. I just love the slogan “More issues than Vogue” It’s so funny and eye-catching. It’s perfect to just throw on under a blazer or jacket to give your look an edgy yet sharp look with a bit of humour added to it. I have a Polaroid of me wearing this t-shirt on my birthday evening out with my best friends.
Zara stole my heart on this next purchase. A floral bomber jacket, and can I say a floral bomber jacket done properly. Most of the time they’re not very nice floral, but Zara got it and the colouring on this jacket is beautiful. I’ve wanted for so long and with my Zara gift card I got for my birthday I went and brought it. £39.99 it was but I paid £19.99 due to my gift card. Total bargain!
Mickey mouse are obviously needed as my trip to Disneyland is in 3 days. I’ve already told my friends that I shall be wearing them everyday with my outfits!
I needed a striped jumper for my “Paris look” for when I go to Paris for the day. I thought my roll neck would work but after wearing the outfit I planned to go to Paris with I didn’t like how the blue clashed with the dark camel colour of my trench coat. I saw this jumper on eBay starting bid for 0.99p so I thought I might aswell get it. Originally Topman and £40, I bided and I got another bargain at just £3.00.
Another pair of sunglasses and these are amazing! They have “Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye” around the frames. They’re super oversized which I love with any sunglasses, and they’re just another fun way to add something different to your outfit. Purchased from Choies, which are a very cheap yet super amazing products seller online!
Zara again with this beautiful floral t-shirt. This t-shirt is very similar to the floral bomber I purchased at Zara. It has the floral pattern along the sides and then meets in the middle. £19.99 for this beauty which I think is very reasonable for a printed t-shirt of this quality.
These sandals from Topman have to be one of my favourite buys. Originally priced at £69.00 I purchased them for just £30. Due to having a Topman gift card that hadn’t been used since christmas as well as a 20% off code I found online. I wanted some similar sandals last year which came out around the same time. They’re super comfortable and I can’t wait to get my summer on and wear them!
Having talented friends that do photography is super handy. My friend is a photographer and she asked me to go to her house and do some shoots with her for her blog and to get her noticed. She’s a very talented young lady and does wonders behind a camera. You should check her Facebook and also her Blog We did two shoots, which were mainly for her use but because they’re so good I asked her if I could use them for my fashion blog. The first one I did was my with Zara trench coat (My Paris coat I keep calling it) teaming it up with my black roll neck and my black skinny jeans. I know I’ve done this outfit before but she wanted simplicity and the main focus on my face. I really love how she’s captured the essence of the styling.
The second shoot was for me as she said she’d do one shoot for my fashion blog. It’s by far the tackiest outfit I own, but you know what I love it. A day trip to H&M a few months ago I noticed they had a sale on in the women’s section. I went over to have a look if there were any skinny jeans and instead I saw a load of these bomber jackets that had all these chains on them. I automatically picked one up and took one to buy. I fell in love with it instantly. I’ve teamed this up with my roll neck and my high-waisted mom jeans which are also from the women’s section. I really love the edgy outfit teamed with the strong photo essence that Sophie has been able to capture.
So now you need to go over and check Sophie’s blog and Facebook out!
So for the past few weeks I’ve been trying to find ” Perfect Purchases” for my holiday to Disney. I’ve been trying to buy practical yet fashionable items that’ll go together, and what better way than top shop monochrome.
I needed a new bag to go around Paris with so I love a good satchel, they’re trendy, vintage looking and just easy to use. However I found a Satchel backpack which would look even better with my look for Paris. It might not be real leather but for £24 it’s a real good buy. I brought the bag from Amazon and it came within 2 days which is super fast. It comes with a shoulder strap also in case I ever wanted to wear it as a normal satchel bag. I wish I could alter the straps a little more as the bag hangs a little low for my liking but it’s a beautiful bag and I love it!
Another bag I needed for my holiday was a holdall. ASOS have a wonderful range of holdalls but I needed to have a black one to co-ordinate with my outfit. My ASOS holdall was £35 and is a great size, I’ll definitely be able to get all my gadgets, chargers and bits and pieces in. Again like the satchel bag pack it comes with a shoulder strap in case I get tired of carrying it around and just want to throw it over my shoulder.
A neoprene jumper is something I’ve wanted to a while now. I’ve got a neoprene coat and I’ve always longed to have a neoprene jumper. I love the style and the fit of neoprene, I think it just looks so expensive. I brought my jumper from eBay for £12 however they have stopped doing them now. So I’m so glad that I’ve snapped mine up while it was around.
Something now I’ve never really bothered with and that’s a wallet. But because I’m going on holiday I thought I better buy one to stick all my money and cards in just in case. eBay is a gem if you’re looking for a wallet or purse as they’re so cheap. Mine has lots of space to put cards and notes and even has 2 slots to put change into. For £4 you can’t go wrong really.
My favourite Purchase of the year. My Instax Polaroid. I’ve had so much fun using this. £69 off eBay, it comes in different colours. I’m a plain Jane and wanted a colour that’d go with everything so I went for the white (Kinda wishing I went for the black) I brought the case for it separately which cost an additional £10 but I’d rather it be protected and safe then out in the open. I’ll put some sample pictures in that I’ve taken so far. What I’m doing is taking photographs with my friends and then getting them to sign them but when I go to Disneyland I’m going to take pictures with my favourite Disney characters and then get them to sign them at the bottom of the picture. It’s a cute design and I just love it so much.
I’ve wanted some high-waisted trousers for a while now and I could never find a good place to get any. Along comes ASOS and I find about 20 pairs that I love. But these high-waisted peg leg fitting high-waisted trousers are just what I’ve wanted. They are women’s so I struggled to figure out what size I was, I brought a size 8 but I could have got away with a 6 but they had sold out when I brought them.. They go with everything I put them with and we’re so cheap. I got them on a discount price of £24 when they should have been £30, which is another reason I love them as they’re a bargain.
Spring has finally sprung, with its pastel colours contrasting with the reminiscence of the dark and drab winter fashion. Walking around most of the retailers now everywhere has pops of colour, blue, pink and yellow being the strongest of the colour pop. I love the fact that the old winter stock is starting to filtrate out and the new season is upon us, Topman is one of the main retailers at the moment that seem to being doing this very well. With soft pastel jumpers being teamed up with the harsh darkness of monochrome to add a tiny splash of colour to the mix. The pink and blue jumpers are just some of the new lines added to Topman for the new spring season. Adding a black or grey duster coat (like pictured) or a leather jacket (like pictured) with dark jeans or trousers will give it that new twist on the monochrome look. Finishing the look with either black or white shoes, boots for a more grungy kind of look or trainers for a casual styling. If you’re feeling a bit more daring with colours why not try this pastel blue smoking jacket from Topman Limited as the main focus. Build your monochrome look with a splash of black underneath the pastel spring colour.
I love the monochrome look it gives any person an element of mystery and sophistication in just one look, I wear a lot of black (As seen here and here) at the moment due to it being winter but as soon as I start seeing some more infiltration of Spring within the retailers I’ll definitely start brightening up my wardrobe.
So today I was going to do a few favourites outfits as I have the day off work. However the weather didn’t want to play nicely today and rained most of the day. The only time it stopped I got myself ready into one of my outfits and ran outside in my garden to take a few snaps. I only got one outfit but that’s better than nothing. It is one of my new favourite outfits though that I just love and can’t wait to go out in.
My tartan cape is one of the best buys I’ve ever got. As people know I love a cape as seen on my “Look at that cape swoop” post. This cape was originally £70 from Zara men’s. and I saw it on eBay. My brother told me to put a ridiculous bid in for my maximum highest bid. I was willing to pay £30 for it. So my highest maximum bid was £30.79. Someone was trying to out bid me so much and it got down to the last couple of seconds and they bidded £30.00, if it wasn’t for that 79p I would not have that beautiful Tartan cape. The cape is a bold statement piece and just finishes this outfit off perfectly. It’s a thin material also which will transition me lovely for the Spring.
I won’t go on about my roll neck again because I wore that in my previous look in my previous “Favourite Outfits” As well as my shoes.
My trousers are surprisingly blue chinos from Topman that I’ve dyed black. I’ve always liked chinos and Topman always seem to have really nice chinos, priced around £28-£30. These ones might be a bit to big on the waist for me but it just means I can wear them a little higher with a big chunky belt. I love rolling chinos up at the bottom, it just gives it a bit more edge than having them down normally.
My fedora hat is one of my ultimate favourite accessories that I just think finishes any outfit off and gives it the ultimate edge. From H&M women’s section is was the best purchase ever. Though not everyone agrees with them but I personally adore the style.
I’m going to try and do a Trend Report every time I see new things coming into shops or if something catches my eye that a lot of shops are doing so I can keep you guys in the loop. So at the moment walking around the shops I can see a very strong trend coming through. Tropical Print, if it’s not a strong Hawaiian bold styled print it’s a subtle Tropical vibe with floral flowers or even exotic animals. There are many options for you to wear this trend. From shirts, t-shirts, jumpers even shorts and blazers. I personally love this trend I’ve seen it come through on the clothes at work (Marks and Spencer’s) on the women’s clothes and I thought how cool would it be for other shops to jump on the band wagon and start doing these kind of prints on mens clothes. Then a week or two later and it’s everywhere. I really love the bold prints with the vibrant pop of colour to brighten any outfit. I love how you can dress yourself as a tropical rain forest with a head to toe look or just you could just have a subtle hint of tropical with a Flamingo. There are so many variations of the print which is something else I really love. You have full on Hawaiian dad shirt print to the fern leaf print or just a full on jungle. It’s a very summery print and will brighten up a dull summers day or even brighten up the 4 day sun period we get here in the UK. I’ve put some examples of a few of the trends on here. They all range from Topman, Zara, H&M and River Island.
So due to my week off work I actually had a social life today and went for a coffee with one of my lovely friends. I do enjoy a good Starbucks!
It’s really cold at the moment due to a thing called winter, which I actually hate. So because of the cold I wanted an outfit that was practical yet looked good. So I thought I could wear my Zara Aviator jacket as I’ve not really worn it since purchasing it. The Zara jacket is fur-lined which definitely keeps your warm. With it being proper leather and really thick it will take a while to loosen up, but over time wearing it will do that. Underneath I wore my new white roll neck that I purchased from eBay that came in the post finally yesterday. The roll neck is a lovely material, it’s really thick for a roll neck it’s almost like cashmere which really keeps me warm. No outfit is complete without my signature key piece and that is a pair of skinny jeans. Now I find it so hard to get a good pair of skinny jeans as my waist and legs are so tiny. Having a 26 inch waist is such a pain, but fear not. River Island Danny skinny jeans now go down to a size 24, giving boys like me with a tiny waist a chance to get a pair of skinny jeans to fit properly. My only downfall on the jeans are they’re not as skinny around the ankles as I’d want them to be. I have had a pair of super spray on skinny jeans from Topman before and they were super tight from top to bottom. However the waist didn’t fit very being a 28 inch waist pair of skinny jeans. But they are a thick material unlike the ones from Topman which I love because my legs do get cold very easily. To top the whole outfit off I wore my new monk strap shoes shown previously before in my “Perfect Purchases” they’re super comfortable and actually make me a bit taller which is something I always need only being 5ft 7 and half. They’re a shoe that goes with anything which is something I always look for.
