This week I’ve been reaching out to other bloggers through various platforms. I’ve never been one to reach out to other bloggers as I felt like I wasn’t good enough to be part of the blogging community. Reasons behind this include; I didn’t post as much as other bloggers and I felt sometimes my content wasn’t that great. However, reaching out to other bloggers I’ve found out a lot of other bloggers feel this way when they post. When I spoke to other bloggers regarding this feeling it was understandable the reasoning behind this feeling. When people put up their content it’s to inspire and showcase who you are as a blogger, and I know people say it isn’t about the views but at the end of the day, it is. It’s about interacting with people who share the same views as you and to inspire people. So when those bloggers posts that blog post, that have been on standby for a few days and you don’t really see an interaction with them, it’s disheartening. So, this week I have made it my goal to interact with other bloggers, commenting on posts that I see on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I have to say, it’s made me feel good knowing that I have read and commented on someone’s post that they’ve taken the time out of their day/week to write about something that they are passionate about. It’s also connecting me with bloggers I haven’t really thought about reading myself like beauty bloggers and travel bloggers. I’ve always read other fashion bloggers, which is where I’m going wrong. Just like me, other bloggers want their content to be looked at, it’s okay to self-promote on sites like Twitter and Instagram, hell I encourage it. If it gets you out there then do it! It’s really opened my eyes to just how big the blogging world actually is. I find it so fascinating the content some people post, it’s like “Wow, how did you come up with that idea” which instantly makes me want to read more. Following from this I’m going to do a follow Friday every Friday. Although I look every day for new blogs to read and follow, I want to do a specific day where I do kind of like a follow train or something like that. I want to reach out to smaller bloggers across different platforms to unite. It doesn’t take much to read and comment on someone’s post. I know for sure it makes me smile and it makes me feel proud that I’ve written something someone has reacted too. Even if it’s a like, I know somebody has read that post and thought “Yes, I like this” Which makes my day.
