So from my previous post “Summer Wish list” you know I wanted to start buying brighter clothing as the summer months are upon us. I wanted a very tropical look. Taking a spontaneous trip in to H&M I walked past the womenswear section to get to the mens and I happened to see these trousers and they caught my eye. I wanted a pair very similar to them, which are on my wish list. However, the pair on my wish list are a jersey material and the pair that I’m wearing in my photos are more of a proper trouser material. I love the fit and I love the pattern on them with the different greens blending together. They’re a women’s size 8 but I think I could have got away with a 6 around the waist but not around the crotch area! Nonetheless they’re an amazing fit and I love them so much. I can’t seem to find them on the H&M website so keep an eye out in store, at £14.99 they’re a bargain! I’ve always wanted palm print trousers from when I first started getting into fashion and saw that Topman did them one year but I didn’t think I would pull them off. But H&M have proved me wrong! I teamed the trousers up with a simple white jumper I purchased on eBay for £5.99 along with my beige brogues I purchased from River Island a long time ago! I really enjoyed doing this photo shoot, I wanted to get creative and do something different to showcase the outfit and I’m very happy with the outcome.
So today I went out for a little catch up with the lovely Tom who is a very dear tumblr friend of mine. We’re like exactly the same person when it comes to taste in music as well as our whole aesthetic. We went for a coffee at Starbucks for a little bitching session as well as a catch up on life. After we finished our little bitching session we went on a lovely walk in the sunshine and had a photography session against a gorgeous floral bush. Equipped with our Instax and Tom with his Polaroid we thought it would be a fun photo session. The whole aesthetic of the photo session was very Lana Del Rey vibe coming from it and I thought what a perfect way to showcase my outfit that I had on. So the outfit I was wearing you might have seen before in a previous post when I went to Disneyland minus the roll neck as it was too warm for that. My Zara jacket looked in place with this floral background it just looked stunning. Teamed up with my new white sweatshirt which you will see again in another photo shoot I’m planning on Monday. The sweatshirt was purchased from Ebay for £5.99! We enjoyed out little photo shoot and we definitely are going to do more of them as we both love photography and fashion so it’s perfect!
So I’ve gone a little summer mad this time around for my perfect purchases. I’ve been looking at my wardrobe and thinking how it lacks in colourful items, So I’ve banned myself from purchasing anything dark and instead only getting items of clothing that are white or have colour on them. So let’s start….
My first purchase is my cropped tropical slacks as they are called. Purchased from H&M in the women’s section for a bargain price of £14.99. I went in to H&M to buy a totally different pair of trousers which are featured on my Wish list but I saw these and knew I just needed them. I purchased a size 8 thinking I’d most likely have to return them thinking I was too big for them but actually the size 8 is nearly right. It puckers just a little on the hips but if I went down to a size 6 there would be kinds of things on show! I’ve tried looking for them on the H&M website but I can’t seem to find them. However this amazing print is super summery and I can’t wait to wear them.
My next purchase was just a plain white jumper. Purchased from eBay for a steal of a price of £5.99. I just needed a plain white jumper to go with a few of my outfits I already have. It’s simple and effortless which is why I love it!
Everyone who knows me knows I love a pair of sunglasses and when I saw these white sunglasses on the £1 counter at H&M I couldn’t resist in purchasing them. They’re a simple and fun way to add something extra to my summery outfits without making them look dark.
My next purchase is yet another H&M bargain, from the menswear section this time. H&M have a basics range which is just basic t-shirts, hoodies and jumpers. The price range on these are just amazing, my t-shirt cost me £5.99 which something in Topman would cost around£20. It’s a perfect t-shirt for summer added with a pair of white or black shorts and my white sunglasses. Shop the T-shirt here.
My favourite purchase of them all has to be this t-shirt from Zara. It might of cost £19.99 but it was so worth it. I posted on my Wish List the other day a t-shirt very similar which I wanted for Zara. I went in to purchase that t-shirt and saw this pastel blue one and knew I had to have it. It was the start of my colour injection I need in my summer wardrobe. It’s a soft fabric and it’s a little big but because Zara don’t go down any smaller a small just gives me a little extra for an oversized look. I love the floral pattern with the “For Ever” writing that’s half been missed off. Shop the t-shirt here.
1)I’ve never really purchased anything from Forever 21 before as nothing has ever taken my fancy, but this blue and white vertical strip shirt caught my eye. It’s a very plain and simple shirt that can be a perfect starting platform for a very nautical look. A look that I very much love for the summer. It’s a perfect price at £14.00 which I thought for a shirt is very reasonable! Shop the shirt here.
2) Zara know how to do a printed t-shirt as this one is very much that. At the moment I’m all about the floral and tropical print and this includes both. With its striking colours accompanied with the bold text it’s an eye-catching t-shirt. At just £19.99 it’s a very good price for a printed t-shirt. Shop the t-shirt here.
3 Now I know these shoes are women’s but I’ve always loved them. I just love how smart they are, they are the type of shoe that you can throw on and that would go with any outfit. I love having different shoes that people think boys can’t wear. eBay is the cheapest and best place for these kind of shoes.
4) Another from the womenswear here. H&M jersey jogging bottoms. I love the colour and print on these they’re so amazing, I love the tropical vibe coming from them. They are from the womenswear section from H&M but if they suit you why the hell not wear women’s clothes? If you’re comfortable then who cares what people think of you? Amazing price at just £12.99. Shop the trousers here.
5) Like I said I’m all about the tropical trend at the moment and yet again Zara has taken my wages away from me with this subtle tropical print t-shirt. I love how the print is just around the edges which frames the white section of the t-shirt. I love the subtle hints of colour splashes every now and again. £19.99 for this beautiful t-shirt. Shop the t-shirt here.
6) These shoes are the epitome of beautiful. White tasselled brogues. I love loafers and I love brogues so combining them together seemed like the best option. Adding them in white just gives them a clean look to add to any outfit. Again these shoes are on eBay and are a bargain price at just £25.
7) I love dungarees and the fact they don’t do enough of them for men make me shop in the women’s section to get them. This white/cream one for H&M is a stunning item of clothing. I love how summery it looks and could easily be teamed up for nautical look with the blue and white shirt. I love how it can be put with anything as it’s white so anything that goes on underneath can be as bold as you wanted. The fact it’s only £14.99 is another reason why I love it so much! Shop the dungarees here.
So It’s been a while since I did a favourite outfits post and because I brought a new t-shirt yesterday and the sun was shining today, I thought I’d put an outfit together that I really love. I also thought I would showcase my brown hair seeing as people wanted to see it when I got it done. I thought the grey was getting a little too much upkeep and so I thought just going a nice subtle colour close to my natural would look good.
While in Zara the other day I noticed that they had a lot of new prints which were bold and colourful. The t-shirt I’m wearing in my photo at the moment is my most colourful item of clothing. which for me makes me sad. As I’m a colourful person I really need to re-invent my wardrobe and inject so much more colour into it. The t-shirts from Zara are very reasonably priced at £19.99 and very good quality. My trousers are women’s trousers/joggers from my work. Marks and Spencer’s. They’re from the Limited section and are the most comfiest trousers I own. I got them in size 10 thinking they’d fit but they are just a tad big and would have got away with an 8, so I have to keep pulling them up every 5 minutes. The trousers were a good buy as they were £10 in the sale but with my 20% discount I got them even cheaper, I do love a bargain. My sandals are something I wanted last year but silly me left it till the last-minute and didn’t get them. However this year I saw them on Topman and had to buy them. They come in Tan or Black. Black just goes with everything so I stuck with black. They’re so comfortable and the first time I’ve ever worn sandals since I was little. I definitely want to buy the tan coloured ones to create new summer outfits with other colours that will go with Tan. The sandals are £60 from Topman but I got them cheaper with a gift card I had from christmas however I do know Zara have some sandals which are very similar!
So this weekend I went to London to go to see wicked. It was amazing and I loved it so much. Sadly I left my camera at home and didn’t get any decent pictures of my outfits however I did take my Polaroid and got a few of me before we went out to the theatre, like I said I wore my high-waisted ASOS trousers along with my blazer and grid print shirt.
I love this outfit as it makes me feel a little sophisticated as well as being super comfy. I always have to have an accessory on every outfit that I have. For this outfit I had my stag pin, now don’t ask my why I always add an accessory as I have no reason why I do it, other than to top the outfit off. With this outfit I would normally wear my fedora hat but I thought going to a theatre it was unnecessary to wear a hat. Buying things for memory sake is becoming a big thing for me at the moment. No matter where I go I always buy something for keepsake, I have a treasure chest filled with memories, so in Luke fashion I purchased the Wicked Souvenir Programme.
On Monday my friends and I also went to Chester Zoo. I haven’t been to Chester Zoo for years and years. The weather told us it was going to be sunny and warm, this however was not the case. It was cloudy and got to about 13 degrees. I wore my new tartan dungarees (purchased by a follower) with a black chiffon shirt from Primark with the added accessory being my sunglasses. I was very cold but I’m glad I took my cape with me just in case the weather didn’t turn out how it planned. Just liked Wicked I also came away with a small giraffe cuddly toy and a giraffe key ring.
As you all know I was running a competition giveaway for you, for the chance to win some clothes from me. Well it’s that time to announce the winner. I wrote everyone’s entries on a piece of a paper how many times the reblogged it from tumblr, how many times they retweeted it on twitter as well as sharing on Facebook. I then put them all into a jar and got my brother to select a winner…… Well done to James Thomas!! You were the named picked out of the jar so well done to you. Thank you to everyone who took part and don’t worry I’ll be doing another giveaway very soon so stay tuned!
So this is my first giveaway and I shall just say it’s not going to be an amazing one. I was looking at my clothes rail full of clothes and thinking what of that have I hardly ever worn and these 3 items of clothing stuck out the most. So I’m giving the chance for one lucky person to win all of 4 items including the necklace. I know it doesn’t look a lot but this is my first giveaway. Comment below and share to be in for a chance. Jumper is a Boohoo small. Shirt is an ASOS small and bomber jacket is a women’s H&M Medium/Large.
Just like Miranda Priestly said in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ “Floral for Spring? Groundbreaking! However I’m really loving all the different types of floral there is, some places are mixing the florals print with china prints such as Marks and Spencers where I work. They have a whole collection called china blue where it has florals mixed with a blue china print. Places like Topman, Zara and River Island have also jumped on this trend. To floral bomber jackets (which are my personal favourite at the moment) to floral trousers.
Floral bombers are something that I’m loving right now, I recently brought the Zara floral bomber/jacket on my birthday wish list which has very stylised flowers on the front of it that compare to that of a Vanitas painting (pictured to the right) I love the style and the colours of this jacket a big winner from Zara! Topman has also done an amazing floral bomber/Harrington jacket which I fell in love with instantly. I just love how vibrant and colourful the floral theme is and how it all blends together. It’s a definitely going to be a purchase of mine!
Another few items that have caught my eye with the floral trend are a floral sweatshirt from, yes you’ve guessed it Zara. Zara do floral so well, they have such a wide range of different styles I love this white sweatshirt with the single red rose and rose leaves. I love the contrast against the white, it’s a perfect dress down sweatshirt to throw on over skinny jeans or black skinny joggers.
Another winner from Zara is these floral trousers. I’ve always wanted a floral pair of trousers that aren’t too out there. This subtle print of floral is just enough, teamed with a simple plain white t-shirt with sandals and sunglasses you have the perfect summer outfit. A perfect combination for a holiday outfit in the sun!
If you’re not brave enough to go full floral then add a bud a of floral instead of a whole rockery full of flowers. By just adding accessories to your outfits that have floral design on them, you will then be immersing yourself with the floral trend and adding a touch more colour to your outfits. Why not add a floral bow tie from ASOS to your outfit? Or why not add a floral kick to your step and go with a floral shoe from ASOS instead?
So as you all know I’ve been to Disneyland Paris this week and my gosh was it amazing. Not only did I venture to Disneyland but my friends and I took a train into Paris and had a long adventure around Paris. 4 days of pure magic and excitement has exhausted me but it was so worth it.
Monday 23rd of March, I woke up at 3.30 filled with excitement. We arrived at the airport 2 and half hours beforehand and so we decided we could treat ourselves to have a Frankie and Benny’s breakfast. After checking in and sorting all our cases out we were ready to board our plane. I was a tad nervous while boarding the plane as I hadn’t been on one for 16 years and when you’re a kid you just don’t care but being 23 your mind goes on overdrive with what can go wrong. The flight was only short but I really worked myself up and got myself into a bit of a state. However one we’ve had gone through border control etc, it was time to get aboard the Disney shuttle bus that would take us straight to our Disney hotel. I could feel the excitement building up in me like nothing else before. The sun was out and made the sky a crisp blue which was something we didn’t see in England before we left. A 25 minute trip later on the bus and I could see in the distance Disney Studios. I think I nearly squealed with excitement. Our hotel was the Santa Fe, a cars themed hotel which was beyond amazing! After dropping our suitcases and things in our hotel room, we hopped on the shuttle bus that take us to the park and we let the magic begin. The outfit I was rocking was topped off with my first purchase in Disneyland and that was my Mickey Mouse ears. A floral bomber from Zara that was one my wish list before my birthday, with my burgundy roll neck and skinny jeans. I did wear my cape in the morning on the way to the airport due to it being so cold. Most of the day was spent taking in the sights of around the park and being huge kids in the Disney Store. We eat in few places like Hakuna Matata restaurant which was basically our first meal being in Disneyland. Then on the evening we ate in Billy Bob’s restaurant. Being awake for so long killed us, as well as the stress of the airport we we’re ready for bed that night!
The first part of day 2 consisted of heading the to the Walt Disney Studios to have a look at all the movie aspects of Disney. It was really interesting and just so cool. Getting to see all the movies like Toy Story, Monsters inc, Ratatouille and Finding Nemo in one place. My outfit for day 2 consisted of my Vintage Mickey mouse jumper with my dungarees and of course topped off with my Mickey Mouse ears. The only full picture of my outfit is this one with Mike from Monsters inc (sorry about the blur) We then went back into the main park and went on a few rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice’s Curious Labyrinth. We didn’t eat too much on that day because we had a reservation within the Cafe’ Mickey, so we went to an all you can eat buffet within the Buzz Lightyear Restaurant the food was lovely. After returning back to the hotel to freshen up and have a change of outfit we returned back to the Disney Village for our reservation to Cafe’ Mickey. A Cafe’ where you sit and have a meal and all the Disney characters come around your table and you can have your photograph with them. This was the one thing I was waiting for the whole holiday. I just couldn’t wait. Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Goofy were in the night we was in the Cafe’. I got a photograph with them all. The food was also sogood!
Day 3 consisted of Paris. We got on a train all on our own because the people at the information desk didn’t help us at all, we spoke to them in English and they spoke to us back in French. Super helpful. However we made it to Paris and with a help of a trusty map we walked all around Paris to all the locations we wanted to go see. We saw the ppadlock bridge, The Notre Dame, The Louvre, The Arc De Triumph and most of all The Eiffel Tower. We went up the Eiffel tower which I can only make half way because I’m terrified of heights and also lifts. But I got to the second platform which I’m proud of myself to even get that far. photo to the left is the view from the second platform My outfit for Paris was my neoprene Zara coat, my peg leg trousers from ASOS, striped topman jumper, my fedora hat and my leather satchel back pack. It had a very Parisian vibe and I loved it so much. However the weather was windy and a tad cold so I did suffer a little but it was so worth it. After spending the day in Paris we took the train back to Disneyland to watch the Disney Dreams fireworks which was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.
The final day of our stay, most of the day was spent packing and getting ready to go home. We went to the park for the last time and brought lots of souvenirs and gifts for people. I got a lot of souvenirs for myself which I love! My last outfit of the holiday consisted of my brand new Mickey Mouse hoodie I purchased while staying in the park, with my skinny jeans, my trench coat and of course my mickey mouse ears. The last day was so sad, it just went so quickly. We were trying to take as many photos as possible before we left to make sure we had lots of memories from the holiday. This holiday was my first holiday in 16 years and I spent it with my favourite people in the world. It was the best birthday I could ever of wished for and it just was amazing. We are already in talks about going to Disney world next year! I hope so because that’ll be sun, sun, sun and Disney for 2 whole weeks!! How amazing would that be?? The picture below just shows all of the souvenirs I brought for myself. I did get gifts for other people who also included mugs, socks, tea towels and magnets. Best holiday of my life so far. I just can’t wait to go to Florida if it goes ahead!
Just a quick post to keep you updated about my trip. Excuse the bad quality photograph, I had to take this with my brother’s phone camera due to my camera being used for this! So I’m all packed and ready for my holiday to Disneyland Paris tomorrow. I’ve got all my essentials ready and at hand within my hand luggage. I’m actually so excited as this is my first holiday in 12 years and without my parents also.Though I’m on holiday I shall be doing outfit of the day to showcase my fashion and style, but I will not be blogging while I’m there. I shall wait until my return home to blog about each day. As well as going to Disneyland Paris I am also going to Paris for the day for a big shopping trip and to sight see, so I’ve made sure my outfit for there is on point. So Au revoir for now and I’ll see you on the flip side!
