So after the disaster of not having enough lights for our monster tree, I went and purchased some more lights to make sure our tree shone like the brightest star. With the help of my mom, who hobbles into shot half way through we make sure Christmas is full in force at the Heywood househould.
After feeling really rubbish for the past week and a half. Being ill and having so much stuff bringing me down, it was so nice to actually record a video and get back into the swing of things. From now on if I ever feel down or anything I most certainly will channel the emotion into something that I started with all that emotion just under a year ago.
It was also way too cold and windy outside today so, I decided to take advantage of my newly painted room to do this video. These are just some of my favourite outfits for Winter.
From as long as I can remember Maleficent has always been my idol. My favourite Disney villain of all time. She is the queen of evil and darkness. For Halloween this year I wanted to re-create my Idol, but as the male fashionista version of her. I wanted to embody her darkness and evil and channel it into something fashionable. Nothing says evil than an all black outfit. Starting with the Neoprene longline Boohoo coat that has slits up the side. It hands perfectly to act as a cape. Underneath this, I’ve used my chiffon black shirt from H&M to add a flowy feel to the look. On top of this I’ve added a feather neck piece to my evil look. I also put a ribbon around my neck to give the iconic neck piece of Maleficent. Teamed up with my high waisted trousers and monk-strap shoes, I’ve added 2 pieces of 4-metre chiffon fabric to add dramatics to the costume. Not to mention Maleficent’s iconic horns and staff.
To say I did this video and the photographs on my own is a good achievement in my books!
As many of you know I adore Halloween. It has to be one of my favourite holidays of the yea, with the crisp air and the yellow and orange saturation of the leaves on the trees. It just sets the perfect scene for an eerie Halloween. For the past 4 or 5 years, I’ve done a Halloween photoshoot and with my siblings. Using them as models and centered a theme around them. However, both are unable to do it this year so I’ve taken it upon myself to do my own photo shoot and YouTube video while in the process. I didn’t have a very hard time to think about who I want to be. I knew from the get-go I’d want to be the male version of Maleficent… Male-ificent. So I’ve got all my bits and pieces and I’m so ready to do an amazing photo shoot and YouTube video for you guys! Here is a sneak peek at what I got up to to find my staff for the outfit and a sneak peek of what I’ll be wearing too….
Outfit 1) The Belted Cape: Using the cape as almost a coat you cinch the cape in at the waist with a belt of choice depending on the colour of the cape. My cape is a dark colour, therefore, I’ve decided to use a black belt to cinch in the cape. Also, my cape has a bit of a monochrome feel to it so underneath I’ve decided to go for a pop of colour to bring the outfit together. My shoes, which are a white tie in with the print on the cape also to bring the whole look together.
Outfit 2) The Over The Shoulder Look: This look is the most casual and easiest of the looks. It’s literally just throwing a cape over the shoulder and over any outfit. However, because my Tartan cape is so bold I went for a very subdued look underneath to compliment the cape. Wearing my black denim dungarees with my new grey knitted jumper and finishing the look with my black Chelsea boots.
Outfit 3) The long-line Formal: By far my favourite outfit of all time. Throwing on my long-line black cape with my smart white shirt. High waisted trousers, deer stag pin cravat (that I made myself) my trusty Fedora-wide brim hat and tying the look together with my Monk strap shoe. Perfect for that formal occasion or if in my case just to stand out of from the crowd. It’s a very monochrome look so you could add a different coloured shirt but I really love monochrome.
Here is my YouTube video on how I style my cape:
So while shopping in Manchester with my two best friends I found this grey coat in Topman which I instantly fell in love with. It was a toss-up between this coat and the camel coat I’ve lusted over for at least 3 years. But alas I picked the grey coat and I’m so glad I did. Being from Manchester I kinda knew no one where I live will have this coat. Teaming this coat up with a grey Boohoo roll neck and my new trousers from the women’s section at River Island. The perfect grey combination. Adding my famous hat and new signature boot, the look is complete.
For this outfit show case I did it with my lovely friend Tom again. Enjoy…
So it’s that time of the month again where I show all you lovely followers out there what I’ve been buying this month. I have to say this month I have definitely got myself Autumn and Winter ready! I’ve also added a sneak peek at a piece of my Halloween costume for my Fashion Halloween photoshoot I want to do.
So a few months ago I started to use an App called Feels and it’s the most amazing app ever! If you love fashion and you love showcasing your fashion, interacting with other people who love fashion and potentially being model scouted. Then this app is for you… here is my app review for the app. (This is not a sponsored review)
So it’s a tad late and now I have a really bad back. So I couldn’t do a fancy try on haul liked I planned. Instead i’ve had to sit very still and do a haul video that way. So sorry for looking like a robot but here is my August Haul video.
With Autumn well and truly here, it’s time to dig out the Autumn and Winter clothes. While shopping in Merry Hill, Dudley I found these amazing Denim dungarees that are girls yes from Topshop which I knew had my name written all over it. I’ve been looking for the perfect black denim dungarees for a year or two now. However, I nearly didn’t get them because of buying a size too big and also not looking at the label as it was a maternity dungarees! So I took it back and purchased a size 8 and made sure it wasn’t a maternity dungarees this time. Across the way was a beautiful red roll neck which I knew would go perfectly with the dungarees. Finishing the whole look with New Look men’s Chelsea Boots perfect for the winter months ahead and my Wide brim fedora for H&M. So I’ve done an outfit showcase for this look but will need to upload as soon as I come back from work later today.
