So on my personal Tumblr blog curlywurlyboy I get a lot of questions about my fashion, so I thought I’d use this to let people have an understanding of me and how I go about my fashion.
Why did you start blogging about your fashion?
I’d thought about having a fashion blog now for over 2 years, however with work and dedicating my time to my boyfriend at the time who lived in London it was near impossible. Then in October of 2014 he decided to end the relationship and I was devastated, I was so ill and so heartbroken. How I dealt with the pain is I channeled it into something I love which was where my fashion blog was born.
What is your favourite item of clothing?
Oh gosh I have way too many right now. If I had to narrow it down it would either be my ZARA neoprene trench coat (Which will be included in my Paris outfit when I go) or my Topman Cape.
Who is your fashion icon?
I have 2 people, one is Henry Holland. I just love how unique and quirky his style is, he used bold prints and clean-cut lines. As-well as casual attire teamed up with amazing vintage finds. The other has got to be Alexa Chung. I take a lot of my outfits from her and transform them into the male versions. She just has the best style of any celebrity!
Where do like to shop the most?
I mainly shop online, I very rarely buy anything in store. I mainly shop on ASOS, River Island from time to time, Topman, Pull and Bear, H&M and most of all ZARA. I do go on eBay also and get bargains to team up with the high street fashion finds.
How do you put together your outfits?
I always have a main buy such as my Tartan cape, I then will find things that will go with that and create an outfit. I never buy anything that I think wouldn’t go with the things I already have.
Being a very shy and ill confident person I’m not very good at talking to people and being in new situations, so dressing the way I do is a way of expressing who I am without having to open my mouth. People can see that I’m creative and a bit different. I love the fact you can be whoever you want to be with fashion, there is no limits on what you can do. People have always told me that I must be super confident to wear what I wear but to me I don’t think confidence has anything to do with my fashion, I wear what I want because I like it.
What are some of your current fashion obsessions?
For me I don’t tend to follow trends I just buy things and put them into an outfit, so for me I love Monk Strap shoes. I have 3/4 pairs and they’re forever growing. I love a good roll neck, from colourful roll necks to plain and simple ones and most likely my capes.
What is your favourite season to dress in?
This is a hard question because I’m a lover of summer, but I’m not overly keen on summer fashion. Where as I hate winter but lover layering up and being all warm. So I could go with Spring and Autumn because it’s like the transition stage where it’s not too cold but it isn’t too hot, so you don’t need to layer up as much but you can still have a full outfit.
What do you want people to take away from your fashion blog?
I want people to believe in themselves when it comes to fashion. I don’t want them to doubt themselves into thinking they can’t wear something for it not being their style. I believe there is not such thing as something not suiting you, I tell this to every customer at where I work when I’m in the fitting rooms. How you style it is the key. I want people to be inspired to go and try different things they didn’t think would suit them and be inspired to take their fashion to new boundaries. It makes me sad when people say “I can’t wear that, what would people say” If you’re making people talk about your fashion then you’re doing something right.
