About this deal

I just made a deal for a pair of pre owned Adante as-61's. I have owned the adante center channel in its dedicated stand for a couple of years now, but using a different brand of L-R speakers. It wasn't until I recently when I did a 5.1 mix of a short film I made where I put pink noise through the system and could really hear the discontinuity between the L-R and center. Throughout its history ELAC has been in a leading position in the world of music electronics as they offered advanced technology, uncompromising sound quality and excellent design. ELAC speakers are a popular choice amongst consumers as they have always represented a good value for money and offered extensive ranges of products. Can anyone help me out. I have the UF51 towers and an SVS sub. What should my sub Crossover be set to? 80htz? The choice between passive and powered speakers depends on your preferences and needs. Powered speakers are more suitable for those who want a simple and compact setup, while passive speakers offer more choice and flexibility. Passive speakers are also recommended if you plan to upgrade from stereo to surround sound or prefer a different type of speaker. 4. Why do audiophiles prefer bookshelf speakers?

This subreddit is for the budget minded audiophile that wants to grow out of soundbars, boomboxes, mini systems, portable bluetooth, lifestyle speakers, and PC peripheral branded audio solutions. July 18th of this year, we published an article about the Elac Uni-Fi Reference loudspeakers, the latest work by It is not (exactly) the old original Debut B4. I have a couple of sets of those and they use the original style of woofer and brushed vinyl. It seems to be more like the Debut 2.0 line. Curiously, it is being called the "BS41", which is the name of the old Pioneer speaker that Jones did with a 5.25" woofer. Seems to be rear ported as well. The What Hi-Fi?team has more than 100 years experience of reviewing, testing and writing about consumer electronics. We have state-of-the-art testing facilities in London and Bath, where our team of expert reviewers do all our in-house testing. This gives us complete control over the testing process, ensuring consistency. We always ensure we spend plenty of time with the speakers, trying them with different electronics, in different positions and with different music. The previous owner said he blew one of the concentric drivers by playing too loud, but Elac sent a new concentric driver For customer to install. Any suggestions of things to look for? I will do the candle test to make sure the inner chamber is sealed, and if not it's supposed to be fairly easy to put caulking around the edges. There are 3 physical mods you can make - one in particular is helpful to the way this speaker sounds when you turn it up to higher volumes. The other two are good, but more modest in their effects. Both of these involve improving the bass response; so along with the crossover mod, the bass / lower midrange is greatly improved, I think. Overall, the modifications together make sound quality improvements that I think are clear and obvious. three models should be available by the time this article is published. What's Next for Andrew Jones? And while they might look understated, they're solidly built and reassuringly well made. The bigger cabinets, aided by that sizeable reflex port, predictably offer a good deal more bass weight than the B5.2, but they still refuse to overstretch. They deliver an open and balanced sound that can reach high and deliver ample bass without issue.

Build quality is pleasing, good and solid, and the speakers aren't overly fussy about placement, giving you plenty of options on where to put them. Audiophiles often prefer bookshelf speakers because they excel in smaller spaces and can still perform well in larger rooms. While they may not have the same bass performance as floorstanding speakers, bookshelf speakers can be highly competitive in terms of overall sound quality. Additionally, bookshelf speakers offer a wide range of options for audiophiles to choose from. 5. How long should passive speakers last?Big speakers might give you a powerful sound, but not everyone has the space, budget or inclination for a set of floorstanding speakers. Some rivals might offer a fuller presentation, but few can match the F5.2's sense of maturity and honesty. But one listen, and you know Elac's gamble has paid off. Their sound is wonderfully transparent, with plenty of detail and textural insight. The soundstage is spacious without losing focus, while the speakers are able to tie instruments together without muddying their sounds. The B5.2 are a big improvement on the original Elac B5 – in fact, almost everything about them has changed. The cabinet is taller, narrower and deeper, which makes them look more modern and less obtrusive. The 5.25cm mid/bass unit is new, while the bass reflex port has moved, and the tweeter has a new design too. I do provide links to my recommended suggestions, from both Madisound and Parts Express. You can buy parts from where ever you choose to; and you can determine how much you spend. In addition to Madisound and Parts Express, there are other sources for crossover components.

Here at What Hi-Fi?we review hundreds of products every year, including no small amount of speakers of all shapes, sizes and types. So how do we come to our review verdicts? And why can you trust them?

The B6.2 sound rhythmic and punchy, with plenty of weight but nimble with it. They take what we loved about their Award-winning siblings and build on it with an even fuller-bodied and more mature presentation. And for that, we commend them. I agree. Music can be a lot of things, so can the way it is being presented. What matters is if you enjoy it or not. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA.
