This deluxe box set includes four versions of the warrior with all new deco along with a wide variety of accessories inspired by the classic comic book series, all wrapped up in a collectible box with gold foil embellishments. Speaking of disguises, Usagi comes with a hooded robe with a loose piece of elastic to tie it closed along with two heads (stern and extra stern), two sets of ears (up or down) three sets of hands (fist, grip, and open) Katar (triangular knife), Kunai (throwing knife), two swords (Wakizashi and Katana), sword sheathes, a loop of elastic for the sheathes, a hat, and a Tokage (lizard). I did that for the first two photos below, but I do like the look of the elastic hidden under the upper torso piece better, so that’s what I did for the rest of the pictures in this review.
The sheathes are one piece and attach to the belt with a loop of elastic that you can slide under the ab joint. They're not characters who are addressed very often, despite their regular presence on the show, so it's nice to finally get accurate representations of all of them.
Hundreds of collectors have this toy ( 293) in their user collections, so it does seem to be very popular. Usagi Yojimbo is one of my favorite comics, I love his team-ups with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the prototype looked so killer, making this guy my most anticipated figure of the year. They even sculpted his glasses as a separate piece from his face, so his eyes are visible behind the lenses. The advantage of this set up is you can move the sheathes around during posing and get them on the side of the figure or more around the front if you like.
The cloak has a wire embedded in the hood to help you position it as you desire, and it comes with a cloth belt so you can tie it shut. The white samurai rabbit himself, Usabi Yojiimbo is back, and a new black and white Stan Sakai figure.This highly detailed figure captures the iconic look of Usagi Yojimbo in all his black and white glory. I recommend grasping the up-pointing ears by the base, since mine came separated where the ears meet the base, and I had to glue them back together. There was an attempt in 1994 to give Space Usagi his own show, and there's test footage out there with Jim Cummings doing the voice of Usagi, but the show never got off the ground as a full-fledged series. nin (masterless samurai) has drawn praise for its faithful reflection of many aspects of traditional Japanese culture.

Usagi shows up in season 3, so the Turtles’ concept of disguise has morphed into leather jackets and sunglasses for Usagi’s debut episode, a look I enjoyed seeing here. The swords vary in length in the show depending on the scene, so part of me wishes they were a bit longer and thinner, but these look good proportionally with Usagi. Zak the Neutrino got a Playmates action figure in 1990 which substantially redesigned his look, and it got a reissue in different colors as part of the Toon Turtles assortment along with a more accurate Dask and Kala in 1992, but the colors were still all over the place.A collector sub devoted to everything to do with NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures - All collectors welcome. Note that the individual character names are not actually printed anywhere on the packaging, leading to some potential confusion among fans who aren't intimately familiar with the original show. Kala is another character that Playmates did a pretty good job on, but the NECA sculpt absolutely nails the head dimensions and proportions. The elastic belt can tuck into the gap between his shirt and pants and is nearly invisible, which I think was a great solution.
