Besides both pieces of hardware being great controllers, both can be used as standalone mixers without being connected to a laptop. That means you can spin using turntables and media players while being able to use the onboard EQs and effects. Effects

The Touch FX bring powerful effect combinations to your fingertips. Swipe in any direction to instantly create build-ups, drops, and transitions. The added ability to latch Touch FX allows you to focus on other aspects of your mix while the effect remains active. You would generally be requested to enter the supplied activation code to activate the software and allow you to use the software on your specified computer or laptop. With its club-style mixer and layout (not the case with the Prime 4+), other notable features include the 7-inch touchscreen, on-jog displays, and built-in speakers – ideal for smaller gatherings and casual house parties. Once in controller/USB mode, the drive will be mounted to your computer. Note: The PRIME 4 + may continue "searching for the computer" but this is normal. The PRIME 4 + supports a 2.5" SATA hard drive; either HDD or SSD. There is no drive capacity size limitation, just be sure the hard drive is formatted in one of the supported file system types; FAT32 or exFAT.

The software improvements are impressive, delivering way beyond what any other DJ kit has via software updates. The PRIME 4 features an adjustable 10" touch screen with gesture support. A display cover is included. Sampler Content is selected as a source. You can enable or disable this content from appearing using the Sampler Yes, the PRIME 4 + features a network port for sharing data between devices. Use a standard Cat5e cable to connect this to the hub on an additional Prime device to share media between devices. Note: It is not possible to Sync or Instant double to a media player over the network.
