About this deal

Growing up, I remember watching movies with the bald guy with the glasses who looked super smart. As I started to select genres that I liked and prefered as one does with age, I was still able to find him in even the strangest of movie selections- of the top of my head, He was reassuring as the doctor in a movie I found utterly boring: The First Avenger, Captain America. He was the reassuring Head designer in that cult classic The Devil Wears Prada. He was frightening in a quiet and menacing way in The lovely Bones and for a while I was hesitant to watch anything else he was in - the mark of a great actor.

I have to say, I was expecting a cookbook filled with fantastic Italian food, given that Tucci is Italian (at least, I think he is). What this cookbook is, however, is a book of Tucci's family recipes... stuff they eat for breakfast, their favorite hors d'oeuvres, etc., and also the recipes of some of his celebrity friends. Ingredients: ground lamb; onions; tomatoes; ground cinnamon; long grain rice; grape leaves; lemons; Greek yogurt Stanley Tucci is an actor, known for his roles in The Devil Wears Prada and Julie & Julia. In 1996, Tucci co-wrote and starred in a movie called Big Night, about two brothers who have one night to save their Italian restaurant. The movie has achieved cult status, earning many fans for Tucci and his costar Anthony Shaloub. One of the things that’s fascinating about Italy is where it’s situated geographically, he says. “If you think about that alone— the influences over millennia, the topography, and the climate, how diverse it is from Lampedusa to the Alps — it’s just staggering. There aren’t many countries that have that kind of diversity.”

But if you think that a cookbook with a celebrity name attached to it is all that The Tucci Table is then you are about to be wonderfully surprised. The only vegetables book you'll ever need reveals hundreds of ways to cook nearly every vegetable under the sun. Ingredients: canned tomatoes; basil; Parmigiano Reggiano cheese; pine nuts; milk; nutmeg; ziti pasta Editor's note: This interview with Stanley Tucci appeared in the February issue of the Italian print edition of La Cucina Italiana as well as in the Spring 2021 issue of the American print edition. Tucci’s latest creation, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, is a CNN Original Series documentary, and unsurprisingly, it’s all about Italian food. In the new series, Tucci eats his way through several of Italy’s 20 regions. In six episodes, shot before and during the pandemic, he travels to Tuscany, Lombardy, Sicily, Rome, Bologna, and Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Tucci, also the executive producer, pitched the idea to CNN.

In Lombardy, he enjoys the recipes of the Missoni family, glides through a Milanese aperitivo hour, fishes on Lake Como, and meets an Alpine cheesemaker to taste ancient Bitto. Finally, he reunites with his wife, Felicity Blunt, at an osteria that was once the headquarters for the rail workers’ union.

Actor Stanley Tucci was born on November 11, 1960, in Peekskill, New York. He is the son of Joan (Tropiano), a writer, and Stanley Tucci, an art teacher. His family is Italian-American, with origins in Calabria. The guy had a huge cask with a spigot on it. From that, you’d bring your flask of wine, your fiasco, and that’s what my father would have with dinner,” he says. “You could just do it, because it was assumed you were giving it to your parents.”

The experience was incredible, even though the demanding schedule sometimes curbed Tucci’s appetite. “I’m speaking in two different languages, neither of which I speak very well,” he says with self-deprecating charm. “So, by the end of the day, when asked to go out to dinner, you say, ‘Oh! Do I really want to eat?’” Featuring family-friendly “simple to make and magnificently delicious” (Mario Batali) recipes and stunning photography, a practical cookbook from New York Times bestselling author, beloved actor, and respected foodie Stanley Tucci. The book is heavy on Italian food, naturally, and I am tempted to try his Polenta Fries, which Tucci calls a great alternative to French fries. They look delicious. Featuring 100 luscious new full-color photographs, The Tucci Table captures the true joys of family cooking. Buon apetito! Simple and delicious. I grilled the potatoes instead of roasting them, left out the garlic and lemon, and used chives, parsley, and preserved lemon with mayo to taste. Our servers are getting hit pretty hard right now. To continue shopping, enter the characters as they are shown Tucci has always loved to cook, and follows his successful 2012 The Tucci Cookbook with a new cookbook, The Tucci Table, filled with recipes from himself, his family and even some famous friends, written with his wife Felicity Blunt, sister of actress Emily Blunt.

During Felicity’s first summer in New York, we planted a vegetable garden together. We made almost daily runs to the nursery to buy topsoil, compost, and manure to enrich the soil. Too much manure, it turned out, because everything tasted like sh*t. The only vegetables that flourished were the tomatoes. Having achieved the proper balance, our garden in London has successfully yielded zucchini, spring onions, runner beans, and, of course, tomatoes. We are still working on the lettuce.” Plus it was nice to read some of Stanley's thoughts in the book about family and food. His wife also added a few words here and there, and it personalized the cooking even more. THE TUCCI TABLE captures the true joys of family cooking. I’ll have to say, my favorite part of the entire cookbook was the stories. Mr. Tucci has a wonderful way of expressing himself as he interweaves stories into each recipe’s introduction. The soup was delicious! I will probably not bother with the fried parsley next time, as it was mainly for presentation anyway, but the soup is a definite hit in my home and perfect for the colder months ahead.soția mea, Kate, a fost o bucătăreasă minunată și generoasă. A good solid recipe for a nice supper. We were watching Stanley Tucci's Italian series on CNN when I admitted to having two of his cookbooks, but being unsure if I'd ever cooked from them, so obviously I had to rectify that. EYB tells me I have made one other recipe, but a long time ago!
