Excellent quality tea, my tip is not to leave it for too long as it gets bitter, a couple of minutes is fine, I also like it with a slice of lemon and a little Manuka honey for a winter treat. The taste reveals lightly grassy and vegetal notes that are highlighted by a lightly toasted nutty aspect.
While this tea has been part of our assortment as a conventionally grown variety for a long time, we are now finally able to also offer an organic quality. Each leaf is carefully hand-picked in the early spring, often just as they are beginning to unfurl, ensuring the freshest, most vibrant tastes are captured at their peak. The cool and misty climate as well as mineral rich soil combine to produce flavoursome teas that have a high level of theanine and are rich in tannins and vitamins.Measure the tea: For each 150ml of water, use about 4 grams, which equates to approximately a teaspoon. Tasting Notes: Mao Feng Green Tea has a light and refreshing taste, with a delicate grassy flavour and sweet aftertaste.
You’ll also find hints of jasmine, particularly in a second infusion as the vegetal notes make way a little. If you don't have a thermometer, simply bring the water to a boil and then let it sit for about 2 minutes to achieve the desired temperature.
