About this deal

For some reason, their relationship, despite the circumstances, felt like home, like a summer evening, a stormy afternoon or a night out at the beach with waves clashing peacefully. It’s not a rom-com, because it is SAD; but the sexual tension between Ethan and Grey is so thick that you could cut it with a knife. This handles MANY different sensitive subjects, but Ethan's relationship with alcohol is a MAJOR part of the story. This strong debut is perfect for readers who enjoy romances with intense feelings, complex issues, and steamy love scenes. I definitely highly recommend picking up this story, and I can’t wait to see what comes next from Ava Wilder!

Amazing characters (just wanted a bit more of the best friend and ex-wife because they weren't full on 3D yet even though there was more to them then serving the plot/scene/heroine).Grey pushed her sunglasses to her forehead and plastered on a toothy smile as she turned to face the voice: a bespectacled teenage girl clutching a blended iced mocha (extra whip). He doesn’t think this game relationship nonsense will work, but he changes his mind once he meets/talks to Grey and realizes she’s a lot more savvy than her age belies. Between his high-profile divorce, struggles with drinking, and grief over the death of his longtime creative partner and best friend, Ethan has slowly let himself fade into the background. She snapped a couple of pictures, then scrolled back through them to make sure they were satisfactory. But if he ever wants to produce the last movie he and his partner wrote together, Ethan needs to clean up his reputation and step back into the spotlight.

I do wish that this couple had more swoony moments together, more time to develop their relationship before they hit such a rocky road. I still want to read more works of the author but this time I was needing a feel good romance and the book didn’t fit with my expectations.I honestly love character-driven stories because of how we see characters grow and most of the time their journey towards fulfilling their character arcs is really worth the time spent reading. In the end, this wasn't quite as powerful as it could've been, but there's a whole lot that I loved.

Despite my extensive love for this story, it’s a little difficult for me to articulate exactly what it was about this book that I loved so much, but I’ll do my best. It might get a little messy between them but I liked how things resolved; the grovelling and acceptance, and the little peak into their future too.All books received for review are either purchased by me or provided in exchange of review, without any monetary compensation. Ethan was the heartthrob of Grey's teenage dreams, but she's also well aware that the past five years have not been kind to him. The romance in this book gave me the same feelings that all of Emily Henry's romances give me and I just loved it SO. How to Fake It in Hollywood is a fresh, witty, high-emotion story with compelling characters and stylish backdrops. Despite having a little issue with the balance and pacing, Ava Wilder’s debut romance pierced me right through my heart.
