The writing (often in vernacular) was very engaging and relatable. I thought this was an effective way of helping us understand the characters better. I liked the length of the book - easy for the target audience (teenagers) to read, and digest and easy for me to speed through it when I didn't want to put it down! Oliver Stone, the leader of the mysterious group that calls itself the Camel Club, is both feared and respected by those who've crossed his path. Keeping a vigilant watch over our leaders in Washington, D.C., the Camel Club has won over some allies, but it has also earned formidable enemies - including those in power who will do anything to prevent Stone and his friends from uncovering the hidden, secret work of the government. After Link's father abandons his family, Link's mother starts a relationship with a new boyfriend, who forces Link out of the family home in Bradford. Link, now homeless, decides to travel to Camden, London. Here he meets Ginger, a streetwise homeless man, who takes him under his wing. Link and Ginger work together and become friends. His stepfather, Vince, likes to drink and is also aggressive. Vince likes to play cool, but it does not work out for him.

The two different POVs added something extra to this book. Even if they hadn't been written in different font (nice touch), their voices were so different that you immediately knew they were from different characters. One was much more sinister and his story was slowly revealed throughout. I thought this was really well done. Oliver Stone, the leader of the mysterious group that calls itself the Camel Club, is both feared and respected. Keeping a vigilant watch over our leaders in Washington D.C., the club has won some allies, but it has also earned formidable enemies - including some who will do anything to prevent the Club from uncovering the secret work of the government.

What was my biggest problem with this love triangle? The fact that Layla acted on her feelings towards both boys. If she was with one boy and internally struggling with her feelings for another boy, I could survive that (sort of). But the fact that she was leading both guys on simultaneously, alternatively being with one while thinking of other and vice versa... Who does something like that? A character I can't feel any compassion for. Plus both guys were willing to forgive Layla everything. And I really mean EVERYTHING. Zayne especially. And that is unhealthy. I couldn't respect them because of it and they all lost my sympathies in this book. And when I don't feel for characters, I simply can't enjoy the story. I don’t want to give anything away, but I loved the action, the drama and the angst. The romance had some great moment and there were definitely a lot of longing looks between these guys and Layla. It was a young adult romance so there were no overly steamy scenes. But I liked the fact that it’s about the kiss. Sometimes a good kissing scene can be every bit as intimate and steamy as doing it all.The narration was good, but I won’t give 5 out of 5 headphones unless it is dual narration with at least one man and one woman. I think that even a book told by the heroine’s POV can have dual narration. Annabelle Conroy, an honorary member of the Camel Club, is also the greatest con artist of her generation. She has swindled forty million dollars from casino king Jerry Bagger, the man who murdered her mother. Now he's hot on her trail with only one goal in mind: Annabelle's death. But as Stone and the Camel Club circle the wagons to protect Annabelle, a new opponent, who makes Bagger's menace pale by comparison, suddenly arises. Brianna and Andrew Lincoln are middle-aged thrill killers, independently wealthy from a patent Andrew obtained for an optical scanner he invented while practicing medicine. The couple moved to Paradise and began selecting random people and murdering them while videotaping their crimes. Later they find erotic pleasure in watching the videos of the murders while having sex. Jesse and Luther pay the Lincolns a visit and briefly interview the couple, who show interest in the murders. As they leave, Jesse tells Luther that the Lincolns are the killers. The Camel Club is a loosely organized group of intellectual oddballs headquartered in Washington, DC. Comprised of rare books expert and librarian Caleb Shaw, retired Special Forces soldier Ruben Rhodes, and math genius Milton Farb, they are led by a man who calls himself Oliver Stone. In the past, Stone was a member of the fictional "Triple Six" assassin division of the CIA, but he has since renounced killing and instead works to uncover the immoral secrets of the US government. It is one of The Originals from Penguin - iconic, outspoken, first. A tense thriller plot is combined with a perceptive and harrowing portrait of life on the streets as a serial killer preys on the young and vulnerable homeless.

Most of us can’t relate to the characters as we are not homeless but they did a very good job of portraying the way that homeless people are thought of in society and how they are treated. I think that one of the main reasons for this book being written was to show the hardships that people without homes and jobs have to face every day. It also helps to open your eyes to all the things in our lives that we take for granted Roth. I was laughing at half of the things he was crying and crying at the other. I was heartbroken and crying with Layla because I was rootin' for him since the first book. I will not say much about this book because I'm already reading the third one and I would probably mix things up, but I confirm that it was as or more addictive than White Hot Kiss. I also felt sorry for Harry. He had no choice but to follow his mother's commands. He was raised by her with only one purpose in life. Yet, he was worried about his family and he was hoping to keep his two lives separate.Do you ever walk past a homeless person sitting on the side of the street and wonder to yourself how they feel or what is going through their mind? Well Stone Cold written by Robert Swindells is a novel about exactly that. Swindells is a multi-award winning English author. His other popular books include Room 13, Brother in the Land and Nightmare Stairs. Stone Cold is one of his most popular novels and has won the prestigious Carnegie Medal. Layla’s relationship with Zayne began to change about this time. He started spending more and more time with her, touching her, cuddling with her. Layla knew this was dangerous. The part of her that is half demon feeds off of souls and because of this, she can never kiss Zayne. There can’t be a future with him, can there? But Zayne has other thoughts on this subject. Harry Finn is an ex-SEAL. He's a doting husband and father but he's also someone who's helping his mother seek revenge for the death of his father.
