About this deal

Thanks to its sophisticated simplicity and careful choice of materials, the Win-Wing is virtually indestructible. The Local Overnighters Project is a unified effort to document and map one-night bikepacking routes all over the world—by locals, in their own backyards.

As hard as it is as a Finn, I must admit that once again the Swedes have beaten the rest of the world and come up with a product that is simple in design and application - despite the questionable aesthetics. By shielding only the upper rear quarter of the wheel, the Win Wing eliminates spray from reaching the critical areas of the rider with a minimum of material.in my book yes, the fact it does keep the spray off your delicate bits (and my bottom), is super easy to fit and swap to other bikes, is very light weight, won’t clog in even the filthiest thickest mud (I’ve had 2. Recognizing that their ideal product should excel at its purpose then go hide out in your garage as soon as the weather shifts is fundamental in the Win Wing design: it’s remarkably stable while riding, very light, protects riders from the embarrassing spray streak, and is a cinch to take on and off the bike. Win Wing 2 features an all new upgraded wishbone that can take even more beating than before and because we care about your bike as much as our own, we included bomb proof transparent protection patches with every fender so that even the most delicate frame will stay pristine. The idea is that you get it in such a place that it puts your back from the knees up in a sort of 'rain shadow'.

But, in my opinion, the Win Wing is better suited to gravel bikes and ATBs rather than bigger mountain bikes. During several rides with it, I rode with my partner who also had one attached to his bike for me to observe. Thanks to it's sophisticated simplicity and careful choice of materials, the Win-Wing is virtually indestructible. In reality, my experience has proved quite the opposite: the Win Wing utilizes a smart and capable design to serve as an easily removable fender, ideal for riders like myself who don’t live in locales that warrant heavy and complicated-to-install permanent fender solutions.Minimal guards tend to get less clogged but they don’t really work as spray from the rear wheel will get through. The fender blade is made from 80% recycled polypropylene and has five holes that are used to connect it to the Wishbone. But as the 12 year old kids we still are deep within, we believe that mudguards is actually a necessary evil that should be ditched at the slightest glimps of sunshine. Offering the same protection at great value and a slightly lighter color scale (grey), it's still a great option for rear wheel spray. Remember, we’re all ambassadors for cycling, so be polite on the road and the trails and observe the leave no trace principles.

It’s generally just there doing its job with no noticeable noise or movement, other than the blade flexing a little on the roughest bits. I ride in a club which doesn't have a mudguard policy, a lot ride their race bikes all year and traditionally those bikes couldn't fit full guards (although I concede that there seems to be a mudguard to fit everybike nowadays) however a faceful of road muck once or twice a week on a training ride is our accepted norm, indeed sometimes weirdly enjoyable. Finally, before we move onto performance, Ass Savers offers the Win Wing Gravel and Road in five colours each. It consists of three pieces: a fiberglass-reinforced polyamid Nylon arch and two TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) straps.

These three middle holes give you the option to adjust the angle of the mudguard according to the angle of your seatstays.
